We traveled with our 4 kids July 6-10th. We stayed in Lutsen for the first 3 nights, then went down to stay in Canal Park for the last night, so we were that much closer to home when we took off the last day. I chose The Suites Hotel because they had a condo suite that slept all 6 of... More

Four friends met in Duluth to visit a former coworker at her cabin. Not having space to sleep all of us, we decided to overnight in Duluth. We wanted to stay on Canal Park, so we could walk to restaurants and shop in the evening. If we would have gone to a "normal" hotel, we would have had to get... More

We like to vacation in Duluth and like to stay in a hotel that can accommodate our family with a suite we can all stay in. Well the Suites accomplished this for us. The suite was large with all the things we needed. The staff was very receptive to our needs. It was located right in canal park and close... More

Feels like a dark, musty concrete nuclear bunker. 3rd floor room facing street very noisy from drunken idiots late at night and screaming sea gulls early in the morning. If you have a choice, the Inn on Lake Superior would be a far better idea.

Having tried ALL of the other Canal Park hotels and found them far too expensive (Starting at $270 + tax) we 'took a chance' with The Suites. It was less than half the rate (honest!), had all the amenities, and sounded friendly over the phone. We read all the reviews, crossed our fingers, and headed for the hotel. It was... More

The signage for this hotel is not the greatest and the parking lot is across the street; but when you finally locate the hotel and get a room it is well worth the trouble. The hotel is an old warehouse that has been saved and converted into a usable space. It is in walking distance of many many attractions and... More

Unique, historical architecture abound in this late 1800's hotel. The rooms were big and roomy with high ceilings. Beds and pillows were comfy. Kids had fun in the pool. This place had all the amenities of being at home with free drinks for the grownups as the honorable mention. The not so good things that stood out, but wouldn't prevent... More

We selected this hotel for its location...right in the heart of all the attractions, museums, restaurants. With a variety of restaurants, shops, museums and attractions, we walked to most everything that we wanted to see and do. We were about a block from Lake Superior and a couple blocks from the lift bridge.

Dirty everywhere. Had a king suite. Livingroom/kitchenette area was tiny, there was dirt in the corners and garbage under the furniture. Rooms are very poorly lit. The only positive thing was the view out the window. Plus they charged me $10 more than what I was told at time of booking

Nice suite room but disappointed in housekeeping. Found a dental pick near the king size bed. Couch hadn't been moved in at least two weeks to clean under it (there was a receipt from a tux rental) and plenty of popcorn.
