A great location, being close to the lift bridge and restaurants. Rooms were very nice and clean and ours had a good view over the lake. Beautiful sunrise over the lake with a walk along the boardwalk. Then, the breakfast is one of the best, complete with eggs, sausage, and bacon. We carried ours outdoors to an eating area with... The reviews about this hotel are all true - unless you are unlucky enough to be there the weekend the place is overrun by teenagers and their drunk parents. It was loud. Rowdy. Drunks in the hallway at 3 am. Poor, poor night of sleep. At breakfast - the hotel guests - young and not so young alike - show... More

The Good: --Great breakfasts! Waffles, cereal, eggs, bacon, sausage, juice, bagels, yogurt, and so on. --Great location – can walk down the main drag of Canal District, watch the ocean liners come and go, and just enjoy the view of the water. --There’s a boardwalk along the water and a pebble “beach” that’s enjoyed by kids & grown-ups alike. The... More

In the morning one can do different sports on the beach of the biggest lake in Minnesota, in addition to the beautiful nature and wide green lands surrounding this hotel..

Great morning breakfast, good evening social with appetizers from local restaurants. Right in the heart of the Canal District, tons of good restauranrs and bars for dining and socializing.

I booked a room at this hotel to stay for my Graduate school ceremony. The entire stay was a delight. The check-in process was smooth and painless. Our room was huge, with 2 beds and a pull-out sofa and a balcony that we were upgraded to at no charge. I was traveling with my foreign exchange student from Australia and... More

Was recently in Duluth for a conference and stayed at this lovely hotel. The rooms were nicely sized and well-appointed. Comfortable beds, nice towels and included a refrigerator and microwave. A full sized breakfast including eggs, sausage, waffles, cereals was available each morning. My room had a lovely view of Lake Superior. The boardwalk along the lake that leads over... More

After reading many reviews we stayed at the Canel Park Lodge for three nights on our recent trip to Duluth. We enjoyed the facility very much and the only reason I am not rating it "excellent" is that the rooms were far to seceptable to talking and noise from ajoining rooms to where you can hear your neighbors laugh, etc.... This is a beautiful Hotel on Lake Superior. Reserve a Lakeside room, well worth it. There is a very romantic horse drawn buggy ride that takes you through Canal Park and along the boardwalk. The shops and restaurants all are within walking distance and the boardwalk is beautiful at night. I have been there twice and will always check availability... More

The lodge is very beautiful, well maintained, fabulous lake views, staff is very attentive but I have stayed at other places in Duluth that were just as nice without the $200 a night price tag. If views aren't your thing or you can do without stay at Fitgers which has a lot of character for 1/2 the price. If money... More
