Everything a charming B&B should be. Gracious hosts, wonderful atmosphere, great location, delicious breakfast, close to things to do, and quiet. The view of the lake and the ships, of all sizes, is great, and there are ample spots on their multi-level deck to sit and watch the lake. We brought our own wine, grabbed the wine glasses from your... More

Right on the shores of Lake Superior. Brian and Mary are gracious hosts. The gardens are lovely. Want a great view choose Lake Superior Suite, Arial Lift Bridge Room or Park Point Room. Harbour Suite gives a nice view of the harbor and Duluth skyline. You will hear horns as ships come and go from canal. Gardens are beautiful. You... More

This is a great place to stay... the hosts, Brain and Mary, are very friendly and accommodating. The house itself is spectacular with its fantastic landscaping, comfy, clean and well-appointed rooms. It's in a great waterfront location, just a short walk from the canal area with its many restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

Loved it! Brian and Mary make you feel at home as soon as you arrive - helpful and knowledgable. There's a great calmness here and that comes from the owners and it's location - the breakfasts are an al a carte feast and a great way to meet your fellow guests - stayed for 4 nights and wish we'd stayed... Brian and Mary are lovely hosts. The house and grounds are fantastic. Breakfast could not be beat. We stayed in the loft, which we enjoyed. Note that the bathroom is roomy and very nice; no door between the bed and bath, though, and a shower only. This short person couldn't really enjoy the view in the sky lights, alas. We... More

My husband and I wanted to get away while our 16 year old was away at camp and this was a wonderful choice. We stayed in the Aerial Bridge Suite and it was fantastic. We could watch the canal from the chairs in our room. Mary and Brian made us feel at home and the breakfasts were fantastic. I have... More

We really enjoy their commitment to the environment and their attention to detail and the needs of their guests. The outdoor spaces and beach are a unique ammenity in Duluth and the... More

Brian and Mary Grover really know their business, and it shows. From the artfully prepared food (and I am diabetic, vegetarian, & allergic to eggs), to the thoughtfully appointed rooms, the art work, gardens and the gorgeous house itself; their experience and genuine enjoyment of people shows at every turn. I had a sense that they were glad to see... More

On the peninsula of Lake Superior, about a block from the famous Aerial Lift Bridge and the Canal Park restaurant district, Solglimt B&B had everything we wanted in a great 3-day visit to Duluth. "1000" great details. Almost any angle inside the home is art in itself. Sitting in the living room, you can see the multiple winding stairway to... More

We had never been to Duluth and this was just a perfect place to stay. Right on the lake side with fantastic huge picture windows looking out to the lake. Park Point suite was in the new section with exceptional amenities. Modern and clean. The innkeepers have thought of so many nice touches here, drinks, snacks, DVD's, plenty of local... More
