1. I arrived after the check-in time, but still had to wait for my room. 2. I was awakened by a mechanical noise in the might. 3. I could hear the guests above me move around, use the bathroom, etc.. 4. I was contacted after my stay, and asked to rate my experience. I did so. I was asked what... more

Being an original DL native and coming home to visit family for a weekend is always a whirlwind, but not this time. We were traveling with our daugther,son-in-law and two small grandchildren. We were able to relax with a great room(which turned into two rooms because of a telephone problem...the staff wanted to make for our safety that we had... more

Northern Minnesota is fortunate to have the Best Western Holland House and Suites. We had visited this hotel 5 years ago and very much enjoyed our stay, however the recent improvements are definitely impressive. A remarkable find in a rural community, the Holland House and Suites has most of the amenities and comforts that we have seen in fine hotels... more

This is the perfect setting for a relaxing stay. I was worried about the train's proximity, but the design of the hotel prevents the noise from being a problem. The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped. Refrigerator and microwave along with the typical coffee maker. Breakfast included two types of eggs and Canadian Bacon along with the usual pastries... more

Booked a Whirlpool Suite room which was at the front of the hotel. Roadworks are going on until 2009 and there is a railroad across the highway with trains hooting 24/7. You soon switch off from the noise so it wasn't a problem for us. The room was well equipped with a king sized bed and balcony which overlooked the... more

For a small town hotel we were pleasantly surprised. The grounds were nice--the front staff very freindly. We had a problem with a dirty bed sheet that a past guest had covered up.The staff came immediatly to clean up--we were given 30% off our stay--great breakfast for continental--waffles,eggs and fruit--pool was nice and warm(not like some pools I have used)--good waterslide... more

This motel is large, mostly clean, but very old. That translates to 'it smells of cigarette smoke that they've attempted to cover with Fabeeze'. Our entire floor was labeled non-smoking, but the whole floor reeked. I had to wash everything we had along regardless of whether it was dirty or not because of the smell. To the hotel's credit, when... more

Loved the Holiday Inn at Detroit Lakes. We stayed here two nights during the 10000 Lakes Festival. We had a king sized room - it was very large and roomy. Bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was very large and clean. Pool was a nice small size and had scheduled hours when the waterslide was open which was ideal for... more
