My wife and I just got married at the resort. The scenery was beautiful. The service was excellent. The staff was always cheerful. Our wedding was no stress, and very seemless. I recommend the resort to everyone. more

Our family of 9 (ages 3 to 65) spent a thoroughly relaxed & happy week at this charmingingly old-fashioned, comfortable, friendly resort on a pretty island in a gloriously unspoiled lake. We had two cabins (Baybreeze & Stardust), both well-equipped with the basics, including daily newspaper and unending firewood. Ludlow's is so well run by such genuinely friendly people, that... more

Our family booked the cabin Sundown for a week long stay in 2006. The vacation was perfect from the moment our daughter called over to the island on the antique phone to the sad moment packing our car to go home. Once we called, they came over with 2 boats...one to take us back to the island and have a... more

Got back from Ludlow's last night and we are still trying to figure out how to function in civilization again... a week with no worries, no cars, no TV, no world news, was truly heaven. Our cabin, Sun Up, was built in 1947 -- absolutely charming, very functional and perfectly positioned on the island -- we were very happy (even... more

If you ever would have told me that an island would be utterly relaxing with a 4 year old and an 8 year old running around... I would have told you that you were crazy! The truth of the matter is that an island is perfect... they are contained. The staff at Ludlow's made us feel totally relaxed. The key... more

We just returned from our stay at Ludlow's and I'm already missing the relaxing days on the water. We had a wonderful stay in the Northside cottage. I was very impressed with size, decor and layout of the cottage. The other cabins we a ways a way and we had a lot of privacy being surrounded by woods and the... more

We have been going to Ludlow's for several years and it is so refreshing to see that some things never change....and only keep getting better and better. We have three children...and they said when we left last year that they would give up everything, to be able to go back again next summer! This is a great place to forget... more

Just returned after staying 3 days at the Bayside cabin. I wish we could have stayed longer. The lake is beautiful the cabin was just so relaxing. There are wonderful views of the woods and lake. We went fishing every day and had a wonderful time. We saw bald eagles, loons, and ducks. We even caught a Northern Pike. The... more

We have been to Ludlows resort for 7 or 8 consecutive years (I've lost track) and every year, we agree it's the best week of the year. The island setting forces us to disconnect from the world a little and really relax without television or computers... and get by with listening to a baseball game on the radio while relaxing... more

August 2, 2006 My wife, my 92 year old father and I just left Ludlow's Island Resort on Lake Vermilion near Cook, Minnesota. Beginning with our reservation, made serveral months ago, and ending with our checkout today, we all felt like we were placed in a family "cocoon". As described in the brochure, "rustic elegance" is combined with personal attention... more
