We found this place slightly disappointing given the 5* reviews. Basically it was fine and the garden goes down to the canal which is very scenic but guests are not permitted to access the canal-side - maybe safety? There is a generous offer to use breakfast goods to make a packed lunch - even food bags are provided. Our room was large ...... but not particularly comfortable. The shower over the bath had the first plastic shower curtain I have seen in a long time. There was just something about the place (and it's difficult to to a finger on) that wasn't very welcoming.

I had one single room for 4 nights for a business trip. Room charming, clean and well-equipped. Great owners who take care of guests and are eager to help. I recommend especially to animal fans - the owners are pets lovers. I will be happy to return to this place. I felt in love with the Netherlands and in the views of Oud-Alblas.

Excellent does not cover the service, it's more than that. Friendlynes, accomodation etc. Even the Hilton Hotels can learn from these more than friendly hosts. Thank you Ineke and Robert for a short but great stay.

The B&B is at the limit of a village, near a couple of farms and with view on fields (with a windmill), so the typical expectations on a Dutch panorama are respected. The owner is friendly and welcoming, and helped us with hints on the not-so-far waterbus for Rotterdam or on the modalities to visit Kinderdijk Holland-oldest-working windmills. Rooms are spacious enough, with TV and bathroom inside. The price was a bit high for the season, but an extensive use of the breakfast opportunities can justify it (we were also suggested to use the breakfast bread and cheese/ham to prepare packet lunches).

We had two rooms, one family room which has a sofa bed for the kids and a beautiful view over the garden and river and a smaller 2 persons room. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Good and complete breakfast. Worthwhile location for visiting kinderdijk and other places in the surroundings.

We had a very nice 2-day stay at de Peperhoeve during our biking tour in Holland. The rooms were very comfortable and the setting is quiet and peaceful. Most of all, the hosts Robert and Ineke were terrific, going the extra kilometer to help us with our travel planning and logistics: providing detailed directions, looking up weather forecasts, storing bikes, etc.. Very good WiFi. And if you don't want to go far for dinner, there's an excellent restaurant right next door to the B&B.

We stayed at de Peperhoeve May 2013 for 3 nights in the Madeliefje room or the Daisy room which was roomy including an upper level and faced the back yard of a beautiful garden and canal. The bathroom was quite large and had a full bath with a shower. We found it to be really quiet which meant a good nights sleep. The hosts Robert and Ineke were very nice and helpful with directions and the 2 dogs and cat(Thomas) were very friendly, the dogs Raisa and Akyra were especially affectionate. Breakfast was very filling with a choice of breads, cheeses, meats, yogurts, eggs, yummy snack bars and also would give us baggies if we wanted to make a sandwich for the day while out and about. You can rent bikes which we didn't do since we had our car but would defintely do some bike riding if we get the chance to return in the future. The road in front of the house is not a busy road in which we walked down to find a lived in windmill and in the other direction is the quaint and clean small town. Next door is a French restaurant which we didn't try but is very convienant if you didn't feel like going anywhere to eat. The B&B is not to far from several towns/cities from 20mins to an hrs drive, we did go to Delft(our 3rd visit) for part of the day and also Kinderdijk(pronounced like Kinderdike) which has 19 Windmills that you can walk along a path to enjoy and take pictures or even rent a bike and bike to the site from the B&B and there was a lot of wildfowl, ducks and geese with babies and even a pheasent. There were a 2 other couples during our stay since it was a long weekend in Holland which is why we enjoy B&B's as it seems you become like family. We would definetly stay here again.
