I live in south Minneapolis and It is always nice escaping the busy life of the city by visiting the Minnesota wilderness. The Oldenburg house is the perfect fit if you're not trying to go camping! Lovely hosts and beautiful scenery! We even saw a few deer in the backyard! ( if you can call it a yard it's more... More

Going to the Oldenburg with my wife as winners of a midweek stay through the group Aging But Dangerous, we didn't know what to expect. It was new territory for us. Small town, close to Duluth, not far from our home in Minneapolis. Glenn gave us the tour of the spectacular grounds and both he and Helen made us feel... More

My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend at The Oldenburg House. We had never stayed at a bed & breakfast before so for first timers we were impressed. Glenn & Helen made us feel immediately like family. Breakfast was super both mornings we were there. Helen's casino pointers resulted in some winnings. Glenn's stories were very entertaining. What caught... More

The Oldenburg house is a great place to stay when biking the Munger trail. The hosts Glenn and Helen are very friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and the grounds are beautiful. The porches of the home are a great place to sit and unwind after riding the trail. Breakfast is made around your schedule which is not common in B&Bs.

Oldenburg house is a beautiful property that borders an amazing state park with a rushing river. My husband had so much fun exploring the trails with Glenn, and letting him take us into the canyon where we got some amazing pictures. His mom was so nice and wanted to make sure we were comfortable. If you're hesitant on staying here... More

On the spur of the moment, we decided to spend a night in the Duluth area. Since we hand not really planned a head we took a chance and booked Oldenburg about 20 miles south of Duluth, in part because the price was very reasonable compared to Duluth, Glenn and Helen were very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was wonderful, home... More

We'd been anticipating our stay at Oldenburg House and it didn't disappoint! Lovely historic home on an incredible setting next to Jay Cooke State Park. Great conversations with Glenn and his mom. It was like visiting family! I've never been so comfortable at a B&B. Glenn makes delicious mushroom omelets too. We timed our visit with the Bayfront Blues Festival... More

My husband and I were celebrating our 1 year anniversary and wanted to go somewhere up North. I’m pregnant so we were not looking to go too far up and found that the Oldenburg house was the perfect distance from the cities and also close to Duluth (a city that we love) We were so happy about our stay at... My wife and I took a long weekend to relax, hike and bike. We were so delighted when Glenn and his mother Helen welcomed us – they are so friendly. The historic house and grounds are beautiful and surrounded by towering White Pines. Our delight lasted throughout the weekend while biking on the Munger State Trail, hiking the Carlton Trail... On stepping into the Oldenburg House, a sense of welcome is immediate. Glen and Helen graciously take you in as if to say "you're home, come in and relax". History is everywhere, in the construction and decor. Outside, the grounds and gardens call to be explored, with paths, old-growth pine, mature trees, and billion-year old rock formations. The setting for... More
