This was my first time staying at this hotel even though some family members stay there exclusively when they go to Duluth. There were 3 of us and we stayed in the older section due to the cheap rate. The room was not cheap looking at all. We really enjoyed it and slept well in the beds. I do wish... more

Girlfriend and I decided to visit Duluth for one night. We decided to stay at Black Bear. We got there around 9am and walked around the casino. The casino was very nice and about 1 1/2 years since the complete remodel. Our room was not ready yet so we drove to Duluth for the day. Black Bear has a shuttle... more

We rented a suite with 3 adults, one teenager and a 3 year old. Service from the valet and bell staff was excellent. We brought food, toys and regular weekend stuff and it filled a cart. There was no complaint, no strange looks a just let's get you in and settled attitude. The suite was a little small for the... more

This was our first trip to Black Bear. Stayed one night (Friday) but wish it could have been more. From check-in to check-out our stay was GREAT! We had a clean, comfortable King room in the Tower on the 9th floor. Floor to ceiling windows and modern furnishings. The hotel provides Bath & Body Works toiletries which impressed me. Coffee... more

This resort/casino is located approx. 30 mi south of Duluth, MN and they have recently completed a multi-story addition to the original motel. Definately, request that your room is in the new tower, although it is more expensive than the original motel building. It's well worth the difference in price. Rooms are large, clean and certainly well appointed with quality... more

I had read some of the earlier reviews, and was a bit leery. But seeing as it was so close to my destination, decided to stay here anyway. I couldn't get a non smoking room, but even though i'm a non smoker, i couldn't discern a difference from non smoking hotel rooms i've stayed in before. I have no complaints,... more

We have been coming to this hotel for the past 7 years with friends and family usually totaling about 20 - 25 of us. This will be our last trip for all of us. The furniture in the rooms was fifthy. We had a suite by the pool and the pull out couch was broken and could not be used.... more

Check in time is 4:00 p.m. - this was a sunday night and we arrived at 4:30. Were not able to be checked in until 5:30. Had booked 2 rooms but desk staff could only find one room confirmed. I asked that they now book and hold a room for our arriving friends and all she said was "we have... more

Very clean tower hotel rooms. Very efficient staff at check-in. They should have better rates or perks for returning visitors. Have never been impressed with their buffets. They could use some cooking lessons. They could also use a better plan for handicap parking as they only have a few spots. Otherwise we really enjoy staying at the bear. more
