After visiting with family for the day, we love that we can go back to our hotel and gamble a bit and then not have to drive anywhere else to sleep. Also, if my husband or I want to go back to the room, the other one can stay in the casino for a while. What's not to love about... More

We read all the previous reviews and almost decided not to stay here. My sister lives about a mile from this resort so location won out over bad reviews. We stayed in one of the older rooms, again against previous review recommendations. Our room was spacious. We had a king size bed, flat screen TV in an armoire, a nice... More

Casino is a bore, slots are very tight (shocker, I know) and tables were packed and they wouldn't open more. Wait for buffet was over 2 hours even though half of the tables were empty and just no cleaned. As for the room? It was disgusting, old and smokey smelling even though it was listed as not smoking. There were... More

The Black Bear Casino Resort was a very good property for our training. I would recommend getting a tower room as this is the new part of the hotel. The location of the pool and suites are in the older part of the hotel and it really needs to be updated.

This place has become a dump. I used to rent tower rooms because they were modern and somewhat fresh.. last few times we stayed I have noticed a decline in the property. The tower room we just stayed in was absolutely gross!! Even though it was a non smoking room, it stunk of smoke so bad. The linens were full... More

Recently stayed 2 nights at this hotel. Our room was filthy, wallpaper peeling off, cigarette stains all over the room and along the bathtub. Food was left in the refrigerator. Carpet had not been vacuumed. Green stains on the ceiling. The bedding was tattered and worn. The hallways were filthy - elevator had a wooden strip that was so worn... More

We arrived on Thursday night for a conference, the front desk staff gave us adjoining rooms :) Thursday night is the seafood buffet. There were piles of crab legs, you automatically get a big bucket for the shells. I was the only one to get the crab, the others filled up on prime rib and different kinds of shrimp. The... More

Service at the counter was very good. We each had a chicken sandwich with chips. The chicken was properly cooked and very good. Price was reasonable.

The newer part of the hotel was full, so we were assigned a room in the older part. The room was spacious and clean. Furnishings were older. A table/desk had been removed so we asked for a second luggage rack for our bags. A staff member delivered it in short order. The switch on the wall light sconce was missing,... More

This hotel is pretty basic. The rooms are actually pretty nice except there was hair on one of the beds when we arrived and we slept on it all night. In the pool area there is a ton of little kids in the hotub and the area needs an upgrade. There is also people smoking cigarettes in the pool area... More
