First off, we were surprised by the size of the room, however, it was very dirty & gross. The carpet had stains all over. We were, however, pleased that it didn't have too much of an odor despite being a smoking room. We were excited to use the hot tub, it was rather busy (lots of kids jumping in and... More

Stayed here again the week of the 14th of July, and as always everything was very good. I always stay in the tower, and the rooms are always clean and comfortable, and never any issues. The room rates are always decent, its a little out of the way, but in my opinion its worth it.

The carpet in our rom was beyond disgusting as it had dirt and black stains all over it. I didn't even want to put my feet down before bed. Felt like I had to put my shoes on to go the bathroom in the middle of the night it was so bad. Other then that though the room was clean... More

We stayed here during a long weekend trip to Duluth. Our room was on the 10th floor of the tower building. Very clean and quiet, no one running in the halls at night. We were fortunate enough to be there on a Thursday night for the seafood buffet. Tons of Snow crab legs, carved prime rib, peeled shrimp, and other... More

4 of us girls went there for the weekend and had a ball. We were treated like VIPs. Laytala checked us in and you couldn't of found a more pleasant girl. She was so nice and helpful and friendly even when we re booked for next year. We had a Bell Hop named Scott that was the nicest I ever... More

My review is just for the lunch buffet. My wife and I stopped here specifically for the lunch buffet while on our way through from northern Minnesota. There's nothing special. The salad bar is average. The entrees are well below average. The dessert area is well below average, and is not restocked in a timely way. I suspect that most... More

Not as good as we remember it...we used to stay at Black Bear about once a year, although that was many years ago when we lived in MN . In a recent trip to Duluth, MN - we thought we'd stay there for old times' sake. But it was not as we remembered it...and somewhat disappointing... Casino: The casino is... More

Stayed July 10th for 2 nights. Visiting family in MN, decided to stay at Black Bear for the kids to play & it was cheaper than staying in Duluth. Next time we'll pay more for Duluth. Stayed in older part non-smoking room. You wouldn't know that cause the room reeked of smoke & the bedspread had a cig burn &... More

Great room, security like crazy walking halls and keeping watch while you slept. Very reasonably priced! Nice pool, temperature was a little chilly. Hot tub was spacious, too much chemical so it wasn't very pleasant. Great food in the Seven Fire steakhouse. Large portions price was reasonable. It was a Thursday night and it was quite busy. If you wanted... More

We stayed in a room in the older part of the hotel. The room was just plain gross. Peeling paint on the ceiling, serious stains in carpet, damaged mirror in bathroom, hook above bed with no picture. It's like they stopped trying and completely gave up on the hotel.
