We spent 4 nights at the lodge and found it to be very pleasant. We had a cozy room with queen bed and a sofa. The deck had 2 chairs for enjoying the view of Lake Superior. The location on Hwy 61 made it wonderful for going farther north to day hike at the many beautiful state parks along the... More

We love everything about this place. We come here again and again and will again and again. Location, location, location -- halfway between Duluth and Canada with so much natural beauty in every direction. A great place to do nothing and do everything outdoors you could ever want to do. Friendly accommodating staff, great breakfast, and dinner options.

LOCATION: Just about 5 minutes north of Split Rock Lighthouse, so we felt it was closer to the Duluth end (vs. closer to Lutsen), but just far enough out of Duluth (and Two Harbors) to not be 'commercialized'. It's on the lakeshore and is put back from Hwy 61 just enough to not hear as much traffic as you might... More

We chose to stay at Cove Point the night before we headed on a BWCA journey and I'm honestly convinced we couldn't have made a better choice. The lobby area was beautiful and there was an extremely kind gal at the check-in counter whose welcoming attitude really did more to set the tone for our stay than I think she... More

Peg and I took a mini vacation to the north shore. Rather than staying in Duluth, we decided to go further north. The Cove Point is situated perfectly to explore the north shore. It is an easy trip to the state parks which surround it, and Grand Marais, for more of a tourist experience. We enjoyed hiking in the parks... More

We have stayed at Cove Point lodge on two ocassions over the last few years. It is a wonderful place to stay to take in the beauty of northern Minnesota. Very well maintained property in a beautiful location. My only complaint is that the rooms are a tad on the small side, but its a minor complaint. We hope to... More

Whenever I need to get away to renew my spirit it's a no brainer, my husband and I pack up and away we go to The Cove. It doesn't matter rain or shine it's beautiful and stress free. In winter it looks like a fairyland, Summer it's sheer heaven when the lake looks like blue diamonds and when it's raining... More

My husband and I had a wonderful stay here in mid-May -- Lake Superior was stormy our first day but cleared up after that so we got to see it in many aspects. Our room was lovely and spotlessly clean - we enjoyed the gas fireplace which put out a surprising amount of heat to take the chill off! The... More

We just spent our second time at Cove Point Lodge....the first about 7 years ago in the winter and this time in the beginning of summer. We love this place! We love being on the lake with great views, cozy surroundings, but most of all, the location for experiencing this beautiful area. We love to bike and hike and this... More

Such a great get-a-way. Just North of Split Rock Lighthouse, it is a great jumping off point to the state parks and light house all so close by. The pool/sauna/ jacuzzi are perfect after a big day in the outdoors. The welcoming fireplace, with books and games so inviting when you walk into the lobby. Two nice food choices on... More
