We arrived at 24 December 2014 just before teatime. We were invited to have tea with homemade pie in the garden. June and Murray are wonderful hosts. Our breakfast in the morning, Christmas day, was overwhelming. And June just replied "o it is not much more than a regular breakfast". Next time we will definitely stay a bit longer to... More

Last Februari we stayed with June and Murray at their Waterside house. The beauty of this part of New Zealand comes together in the view over the bay, from their home. So peacefull, quiet and beautiful. We had the whole house to ourselves and we really enjoyed the supercomfy bed, wonderful kitchen, perfect bathroom and living. Everything was perfectly clean... We enjoyed our stay very much. We had a comfortable, large and clean room, we liked our friendly and helpful hosts and we enjoyed a very good breakfast. We wished we would have stayed longer! A good accommodation to explore the Catlins.

Our travel agent set us up at Catlins Farmstay. We had a delightful time meeting June, Murray and other members of their family our evening there. Our room was large, bright and airy and June was a wonderful host. We had dinner at Niagara Falls restaurant which was very nice and only a mile or so away. Then went to... More

When you enter the grounds of this "farm" you are amazed by the beautiful garden followed by your very comfortable room. The hosts were very attentive band the breakfast was to die for (many more and it might have been the case). The peace was welcome and the hospitality very homely

Staying here was a lovely contrast to the chain hotel we'd just left. The location is wonderful, so peaceful & tranquil, our room cosy and comfy, but the real highlights are the owners, June & Murray. They couldn't have made us more welcome, and just sitting with them in their lounge, in front of a warm log fire, drinking tea,... More

Lovely country farm location with a beautiful garden and very clean/comfortable rooms with their own en-suites.Very short dirt-road ride to Niagara (and NZ's very own Niagara Falls). June welcomed us with friendly chatter in addition to tea/coffee and jam scones on the garden table. Murray was a very attentive breakfast host - providing cereals, fruit, yoghurt, toast and any cooked... More

This three-bedroom home is close to Curio and Porpoise Bays, close to the Niagara Falls Cafe, and a good place from which to explore the Catlins. Comfortable rooms, well-appointed bathrooms, fully-equipped kitchen. Buy groceries before you get there if you are planning to self cater.

There are few rooms to be had in the far south area of New Zealand called The Catlins, and this is a great choice. Better than rooms at the farm are the three bedrooms, good for a family or couples traveling together, that are the proprietors' eventual retirement home. The house faces a lively lagoon with shore birds and is... More
