We love to snowmobile in the Arrowhead Region of MN, and have stayed at many places in this area over the years. On a last minute whim, we wanted to time the snow that was dumping in the area and contacted Beth and Ron to see if they could help us out. They gave us the Bear Trap for only... More

We have been vacationing at Timber Bay for almost 30 years - sometimes as couples, often with family. We have been on houseboats and in cabins. We have been there summer, spring and fall. There is not a bad time or experience. The setting is gorgeous, the cabins are homey and comfortable, the staff is fabulous. Give it a try... More

We've stayed here a couple of times and it has an excellent location and really reasonable rooms. Birch lake is nice and we caught many northerns and a few walleye. A better location than garden lake or some others.

Had a great time with our first trip to upper Minnesota. The owners are a class act, and so is their dog 'timber'. :). The kids really enjoyed their time on the lake and we look forward to coming back again soon.

First time renting a houseboat and the experience was tremendous! The Rykkens are the best hosts and made you feel right at home, especially the evening mixers! But the lake itself is also a great draw, so very special to tie up to an isolated isle and spend the night under that starlit sky. Thanks again! Jeff

We rented a 30' houseboat. It was the cleanest, best maintained boat you could imagine! It was small, perfect for two, and not very fancy, which is our fancy! Ron, the owner, arranged for us to get aboard a bit early. The briefing was comprehensive, but short. The staff was friendly, polite and helpful. We had a couple of problems... More

We stayed with our 2 daughters (8 & 9), my husband, and my parents for 7 days. Sunday night the owners host a get together with appetizers, wine, & beer. Then Mon - Fri our daughters paced until "Kids' Camp" started for hiking, crafts, singing, games, and even a cook out on an island in the lake from 9:30am -... More

Our first time on a houseboat and something that we'll definitely do again. The Timber Bay staff was very helpful and operation of the boat was simple. Check in was quick and we were on the water in less than an hour. We had the 38' boat and it had plenty of room for the four of us. We chose... More

First time on a houseboat. Went with another family, four adults and three kids total. We got the largest boat which can sleep up to 12 however it was really a perfect amount of space for seven of us. Two bedrooms with two full beds, two bunks and a pullout couch. Two bathrooms and one with a shower. The kitchen... More
