This was just a quick getaway but it was a amazing. The room was beautiful, the bathroom was decadent, and the food and hosts were amazing. From the evening wine and cheese (the cheesecake was to die for!) to the elegant breakfast, Cocoa Cottage was a foodie paradise in elegant yet homey surroundings. This is a wonderful B&B!

Best Arts and Crafts B&B we've ever been in. We've traveled all over the states, Europe, Canada, and Mexico. Nothing quite like it wherever we've been. Larry is a great cook too. It was cool that they ask about any dietary restrictions, and I have them. He cooked around those too. Its walking distance from a charming downtown as well.... More

We love everything about this place--the Craftsman style, the breakfasts, the chocolate, and our hosts, Larry and Lisa. The place is warm and comfortable with quiet corners where you can read, veg, or eat chocolate. They were happy to adapt breakfast to accommodate a gluten-free sugar-free patron, and we were impressed. And any place that serves homemade chocolate sauce and... More

I travel a lot - and while the remoteness of some of my travels means I don't always have the luxury of creature comforts, when I am headed to western Michigan, I know I can count on Cocoa Cottage. It's been consistently tasteful, the level of engagement with the innkeepers is of my choosing (they'll chat if you like and... More

The food was stellar. Larry and Lisa were very attentive and accomidating. They provided me with a certificate good for a free wine tasting and two wine glasses from Fenn Valley Winery. The home is beautiful. I'm glad to have had the experience of staying there!

No if, ands, or buts....this place is awesome. Beautifully restored Craftsman, furnished beautifully and comfortably. So many areas in the home to relax and read--the beautiful patio, the sunroom, the den, the livingroom and even the upstairs coffee area. Our room was charming, comfortable bedding and the chocolate and port at night was a wonderful end to the day. The... More

The place was very clean and the owners are very welcoming and accommodating. I felt they truly exceeded our expectations. The breakfasts were excellent and their custom chocolate spread was scrumptious. I would highly recommend a stay with a theater and multiple restaurants within walking distance. The harbor was also within walking distance. We will be returning to stay with... More

We love the Cocoa cottage. The house is a gem of history, the food is a wonder of chocolate this and that, and the Hart Montague trail is close at hand. My wife is celiac (gluten free) and Larry is great with the special touches both at breakfast and one night on Sunday we dined in their back yard for... More

Larry and Lisa are fantastic innkeepers! Lisa ordered flowers for me to surprise my bride of 31 years and the quality and selection were superb - they lasted two full weeks! This was our second stay at Cocoa Cottage B&B. We brought our cruiser bicycles and were able to visit the towns and the outskirts very easily. Larry catered to... More
