The room was very basic but mostly clean. Bring your own toiletries including hair dryer and shampoo. And even though it's listed is a "bed and breakfast" breakfast costs another $12 per person and is served at the sister Inn up the road. We probably won't be back.

We recently spent two nights here. The inn is reminiscent of a bygone era. The woodwork is absolutely beautiful. The general area of Union Pier reminds me of the '60s and 70s vacations of my childhood. Fun to see old cabins and inns. Unfortunately, the big thing lacking here was service. When we arrived, there was a very nice woman... More

Not enjoyable at all!!! Overpriced, whirlpool tub was dirty, very dusty, old piping very loud! Drunk people next to us, you can't call anyone because no one's there. Restaurant looked good, but wait staff were not friendly, so we didn't try it. Pass on this one!

I felt like I was stepping back in time when I entered this lovely old gem of a hotel. The rooms are very basic but clean. The beds might be a little more comfortable and tne windows could use modernization, but everything feels authentic to the early 20th century. (They do provide a small 1990s-era TV in the old wardrobe,... More

Stayed here when the sister property was booked. The best thing going for it is the help, everyone was friendly and helpful, beyond that we were disappointed. For one thing it's dirty....the entrance was littered with cigarette butts, the carpet was filthy, the floors unswept and so on. A historic place showing its age can be charming, neglect and filth... We stayed at the Gordon Beach Inn to attend a wedding at Lakeside Inn (they are jointly owned). We needed 3 rooms at Lakeside and they were already booked so it was suggested that we stay at Gordon beach Inn. I was a little hesitant to stay there but am glad that we did. We needed 3 rooms for 5... More

The building is historic but clean. The rooms are on the small side, but comfortable. There are rocking chairs on the front porch and benches in the large back yard. The private beach on Lake Michigan is just a short walk away. It's a lovely sand beach, great for swimming, running and sunning. The sunsets are great and if it's... More

I've been going to Harbour Country for 26 years, and in a last minute pinch, decided to stay at the Gordon Beach Inn. What was I thinking? Timothy's,the in house restaurant, is not to be included here. The staff- RUDE- awful-, the room needs just to be torn down and completely rebuilt, bathroom antiquated, a heavy person couldn't even walk... More

Unfortunately, what could be a quaint and cozy country inn just isn't. And I usually love these kinds of places! The lobby and porch are nice enough, and they had one of the great beers from the local Tapistry Brewing Company (terrific place) on tap to enjoy while sitting on a rocking chair. But staying here just isn't an option.... More

The Gordon Beach Inn staff is inhospitable and rude, the bedding is horrible and uncomfortable, The restaurant, Timothy's, takes the entire lobby so there is no where to go except the dingy room. Advertised as "historic", but the Gordon Beach Inn is just plain old and weary with not even the basic amenities. Nothing works including the hot water, the... More
