Getting ready for a colour tour and recalling our wonderful stay last year. The grounds and inn are beautiful. We stayed in Diadem-a HUGE room with a marble encased gas fireplace and a bathroom with a dressing table-so well equipped and roomy.Early every evening we were treated to snacks and wine in the Pegasus lounge and registered guests can go to... My husband and I loved everything about Black Star Farms. It is in a wonderful location on the Leelanau Peninsula, about 15 miles north of Traverse City. The inn is immaculate and the staff are incredibly friendly and were so helpful with our daily plans. I went for a run every morning on the property and the scenery is breathtakingly... More

Our two night stay at The Inn at Black Star Farms was a surprise birthday gift from our children. What a great gift!!! We certainly enjoyed ourselves....biking the nearby Leelanau trails to various wineries & the nearby, quaint, Suttons Bay, the fantasic breakfasts, happy hour appetizers, the 24/7 Rose wine, the immaculate accommodations, friendly staff. It's all there.... social interaction,... More

My goal was to sneak my hard-working wife away for a few days. The challenge is she has 5-start taste. The Inn was completely up to the challenge. We stayed in the Atlas Room (top of the stairs on the left). Beautiful room....incredible bath (we could sleep in there). Staff was all very nice. As mentioned, the happy hour is... More

I would recommend staying here again and again! We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every bit of it. The room, the gourmet breakfast, the hiking trails, hospitality hour and free wine tastings were all fabulous! It is in a great location to visit as many wineries as you want. It is also away from the very busy downtown Suttons... More

We drove around the property 4 years before, at that time we were staying somewhere else. It was quite a sight to drive in and the road is steep and you drive next to a vineyard and down the rolling hill. As you come down the hill you see the hose stable and the beautiful Inn. It is impressive. We stayed... More

My husband and I stayed at BSF for two nights. Positives: Many things to do right on the farm, Hearth and Vine Cafe has exceptional wood burning oven pizzas, better breakfast than Chateau Chantal, farm animals to see, tasting room is free for guests, and 6 course dinner with wine pairing is right at the inn. Negatives: The 6 course... More

Drive through the vineyards, past the horse stables, to the stately Inn, and the experience just gets better from here. Great service, lovely rooms, wonderful breakfast and EXCELLENT wine. Such a treat! The nearby town, Sutton's Bay is delightful - boutiques, art gallery, craftsman and Martha's Leelanau Table, a to-die-for restaurant.
