Stayed at the hotel for a week after the renovation was completed and after it turned into a Hilton Garden Inn. At the time of reservation we were told that the hotel had a shuttle that would be able to transport us back and forth from a week-long event. Our hotel is under new Management since October of last year. We have received several hospitality awards in 2009 including Certificate of Hospitality Award from US Army. Our hotel also went thru 8 million dollar renovation and changed the flag to Hilton Garden Inn. We at the Hilton Garden Inn Southfield pride ourselves on our service and attention to detail....

This place is undergoing major renovation. Staff very incompetent. I asked for a roll of toilet paper and was told they were out of it. I asked her to go to another room and get one.How dumb can you be! Make sure you find out if renovation is done before booking. more

The hotel is undergoing major renovations...it may be really nice one day, but I wouldn't stay there now. You have to drive past a giant gravel pit area and walk up a wooden ramp to get to the temporary lobby. I liked the Hilton so much that I booked it for a second time during the same business trip! Of course, I didn't use the food service or the exercise/pool facilities so I can't speak for those. Wow this hotel is aweful!!!! We drove in and wow lets fix some of the HUGE potholes!!!!! The check in was pretty normal. Hotel is undergoing complete makeover. It's dumpy and dusty right now. Very few staff on hand, not a hotel that I would choose for a family get-away, geared toward business folks. Restaurant appears to be short staffed, I walked out. I wont return to this hotel. more
