First let me say that this was my second visit to Marvin's Garden, so my review is mixed. The first time around the room was great-- spacious, clean, great bed, awesome shower, and a nice location. Wow!!! I travel 4 times a month for 3-4 days each time for about 10 months of the year. My company and myself usually only book high end hotels or resorts to conduct my business meetings and for my comfort. The outside of this place looked a bit run down and dodgy - however, when we got to our room - we were pleasantly surprised. I read the reviews prior to booking this hotel and I am so glad I overlooked the naysayers because once you enter your room - you would think you should be paying double the rate. - Bed - Tempur-Pedic bed; so comfortable - Nice color decor - Wonderful granite bathroom; shower excellent (no tub but who cares?) - Nice towels/linens... more
Originally, we requested a non-smoking room and we were given an obvious smoking room. We spoke to the front desk staff and they insisted that it was a non-smoking room with ashtrays on the desk...
