The room was like going into your great aunt Mildred’s house. Our room had an old couch repaired with a sewing kit, it had old carpet with cigarette burns around bed and other spots (long ones, like someone fell asleep with a half a cig in their hand), tile in bathroom all scratched up, counter chipped everywhere because of bottle...

I have to tell you we almost didn't stay here because of some of the negative reviews. We were at the Soo during the Columbus Day holiday to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We opted not to make reservations before coming up. After checking out a few of the other downtown location hotels we decided we would go out around...

The Ramada property is neat, old property with a lot of potential. Unfortunately, while the potential is there, the property is old, outdated, and dirty. While my rooms (I stay here for business for the location) have had working air/heat, but colleagues have had broken air conditioners in the summer and heat in the fall. My rooms are ok, but...

We stayed here this summer and were greatly disappointed. The rooms have not been redone since the 80s the restaurant is tired and wore out. It needs a major investment in remodeling. The owners have a folder in rooms talking about how they bought the hotel because the wanted to own an historical hotel and how this hotel with its...

My wife and I visited Soo two weeks ago and booked two nights at the Ramada. The facility has a rich history but came across wanting in appeal. Our room with a "view" of the locks was cramped and had a slight smell of musk. The view of the locks from our room was 90 percent blocked by broken seals...

Stayed 3 nights in their luxury King suite. It was spacious and well appointed. Nice to have all that room when you want to relax for a while before going out again to see the sights.
Great location for walking around and visiting the Soo Locks. The locks are immediately across the street but the trees block an actual view...

I would not stay here again. There was an odor in the hall way which I did not like. We stayed here when the place just opened and it has gone down hill since then. I did not appreciate the dirty carpeting in our room . It had a big stain on it. The windows were dirty. My husband had...

We booked our stay at the Ojibway based on the history attached to this hotel. We are retired government employees and when we called the Ojibway to make our reservations (two couples so two rooms) we were told we qualified for the government rate.
When we arrived on a rainy UP day late in the afternoon to check in we...

Place was clean, quiet and comfortable. No ice machine on the second floor was slightly irritating but tolerable. Right next to the Locks and we even found street parking. Restaurant choices nearby are limited.
