Located directly across from the Locks is a plus. It''s also an easy walk to some of the restaurants. This is a bare bones kinda place. Only bar soap was provided, so if you stay here bring all of your own bathroom stuff. Also, no coffee maker, no hair dryer, but they do have coffee in the office, along with... More

Older, smaller, lacking amenities. Located on the "Bartriangle", if that tells you something. We stayed in a "cottage" unit ... they are actual duplex or triplex units. Had to go to office to get 2nd set of towels. Bathroom so tiny had to keep moving the waste basket to make room to use facilities. AC unit too loud to use... More

The room was clean and very convenient to downtown and to the Locks. It was a great value for the price and staff was friendly. I would recommend this motel as a nice place to lay your head for a night.

I agree with other comments made here. Great quaint motel. A real pleasure. I recommend this town and the locks. Safe area. Nice to stroll down and see the sights. With the exception of the Ramada the other chain hotels in town are not close to the historic stuff. Hint breakfast area is small so manage your time or plan... More

Wow everything just wonderful, the people, the cottage, the breakfast. We loved it so much we made a point to stay on our return home. We walked to the Locks, restaurants and shops. Would recommend to anyone who wants a clen room at a reasonable price with excellent service

I love this motel. That fact that it is older does not bother me--it's clean. Better yet it's close to the action of the Soo Locks. My husband can watch ships come through the locks to his heart's content while I shop or relax in the the room. The motel is also close to Kewadin Casino. The continental breakfast at... More

We stayed three nights over the Labor Day weekend. We had a cottage and it was a bit dated but very clean and very cozy. The hotel held a free cookout for all the guests on Sunday and gave away a couple dozen prizes. SYou will not get that treatment at the motel 6!

First a qualification . . . this is a four star hotel in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, where everything is a bit dated, but a three star hotel most other places. With that said, the Askwith is a charming step back in time. Upon our arrival, a couple of workers were in the office giving the woman behind the desk,... More

We recently stayed here for two nights and were fortunate to have one of the best rooms in the motel: first floor end unit with a huge picture window view of the Soo Locks. The room was fairly large with a comfy queen bed and a small, but adequate, bathroom. I'm also happy to report that it was also very... More
