We stayed at this hotel for one night in April 2009, 3 adults and two kids for two rooms. We loved the place; charming, nice clean rooms, excellent service from very friendly staff, ideal location, great beds, even the infamous breakfast was lovely. The number of bad reviews of this place is not fair and really a bit strange. We... more

This was our second time at hotel and it's was a bad experience. The bed and pillows were in bad shape. The room was not that clean and the staff was not friendly this time around. We asked for extra towels and the staff person asked why...Because we only had two and that wasn't enough for the next morning. Also,... more

First of all, if you have never been to Saugatuck, please plan to visit. It’s a wonderful area to visit for a long weekend or a longer family vacation. We have stayed at several other Bed and Breakfasts in downtown Saugatuck and I would advise staying elsewhere. First of all, the positives: Location is excellent - right in downtown and... more

Please be advised that all of the beds at the Maplewood Hotel are either standard queen or king beds purchased form a major bedding manufacture. Additionally, the specs reflect those required for the hotel industry. There are no double beds in any of our guest rooms. We take pride in the bedding and the professional linen service utilized for the...

This was a charming and convenient hotel in downtown Saugatuck. Our room was very nice & clean although a little small but again very nice. The hotel personnel were excellent, the breakfast very good and the setting extremely pretty right on a park. There was even a very nice lap pool that we saw at no other hotels in the... more

My family and I stayed at the Maplewood this past weekend and had a lovely experience. We had three rooms total and all of them were just beautiful. We have a one year old and they provided a pack 'n play for us to use while we were there. It was a good place for the kids to stay and... more

If you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing stay, this is not the place for you. I booked a room at this "hotel" for my wife and my one-year anniversary. When reserving a room, I stated that this was to be a romantic weekend. I wasn’t bothered by the absolutely miniscule room (even if I had to pay $225 for it)... more

The location was down town and convenient, the staff were accommodating, but it was way overpriced for the room we had and for the area. The beds were uncomfortable - a double - not even a queen, and neither of us slept well. We will definitely visit Saugatuck again, but we won't stay at The Maplewood. more

Maplewood Hotel is a bed-and-breakfast. Sadly, the worst thing about it is the bed and the breakfast. But more about that later... I would have given this place an "okay" review if it was $100 or $150 a night for the suite we stayed in. But considering it was $250 a night, the cost didn't come close to quality that... more

What a way to spend the 4th of July! We had a super time enjoying the pool area. How clean and private. We can't say enough about the staff, how accomodating. Also the free wireless Internet that works all over the hotel was a saving grace for my husband, we were able to stay longer because he was able to... more
