We had a terrific time at the timberline. Clean, beautiful property, great pool and hot tub! With the new owners renovating the motel, this place will be "the" place to stay next summer. I'm making my reservation early because this place sounds like it will be beautiful! Love the Retro motels! Completely different experience than the chains. See you next... More

As I see the most recent reviews, it looks as though new management has taken over since our stay on June 13, 2014. Upon making reservations, we knew we were not going to be staying in opulence and splendor, but it really outdid itself in the horror factor. While the owners were friendly, there seemed to be possibly a language... More

Timberline has new owners. We have been going to Saugatuck every summer for over 25 years. Our last few years at the Timberline, left much to be desired. However, this year, we were pleasantly surprised. Since the new owners took over, it is very clean, pool and whirlpool are well maintained, breakfast bagels, muffins, etc...fresh and most of all... the... More

The new owners took over on 7/3/14 and we stayed on 7/7/14. The rooms were so much cleaner. The front desk was so very helpful, friendly and even gave us a discount because our room wasn't ready. The room not being ready wasn't even really their fault as when I made reservations it was with the previous owners and they... More

It's a resort town so the owners don't need to spend money making the motel someplace that you would choose to stay rather than a last resort. Bright blue wall, green carpet, 1980 yellow bedspread, green 1990 drapes, gold wall, patched ceiling, two tone patched red door, spray painted pink refrigerator! Basic cheap food for breakfast. However, really nice pool. They... More

We needed to take the dog with us, and Saugatuck as very few dog friendly hotels, as far as I could find out. Timberline does take dogs, Timberline Motel is old, and not updated, but clean and great for what we needed. If you are looking for a great vacation spot, you probably don't want to stay here, but if... More

OK, we were going for the night and knew we didn't want to drive back to Grand Rapids after a night on teh town (40 minute drive). So we booked the lowest price place we could find (Saugatuck can be a little pricey in teh summer). So this little old-fashioned motel about 1 mile form downtown did the trick for... More

I want to start this review by saying that when I travel, I usually try to economize my hotel costs because normally I only sleep and shower there. That being said, I do not expect a lot from my lodging. I must need a clean reasonable place to stay. I was greatly disappointed by my stay. Upon arrival I was... More

We (4 adults, 3 rooms) stayed at this motel for 2 nights because of good reviews on TripAdvisor (disregarding one that seems to be describing something that we did not experience). We found the rooms large and very clean. There was a separate breakfast room where we could fix a lunch and play cards in the evening. There was a nice... More

Went there with my 8 year old and was able to acquaint her with a way of life which isn't dependent on constant distraction in order to have fun. There is a pool and a nice hot tub. Cable is basic, but unnecessary as one is only 10 minutes from entertainment and beach access. Rooms are clean and well maintained.... More
