The Painted Turtle Inn was the nicest bed and breakfast we have stayed in. Loved the room and big spacious bathroom. We stayed in the Vintners retreat. A bit cold but would love to return to this place in warmer weather to enjoy the St Joseph Beach area. Christine was very friendly and her breakfast was really good. Lots of... More

We were very lucky to be able to get a night at the Painted Turtle after our original travel plans were changed. The accommodation is superb- everything you would want your own home to be and more! We were in the Vintners Retreat which is very opulent. This was the only room available but if I was to return I... More

We arrived to our first ever bed and breakfast to be greeted by Christine, the inn keeper. She showed us around the common areas which were very nice and then to our room which was very modern and peaceful. They have an extremely nice setup and serve very good breakfast every morning. They were helpful with advice of the surrounding... More

My husband and I stayed here 2 nights to celebrate our 20th Anniversary! We were so pleased! Christine and Joel are fabulous hosts! The breakfast is amazing! The afternoon snacks and wine were delightful also. We stayed in the Dragonfly room and it was lovely! It was spacious and decorated very nicely. What a relaxing and enjoyable stay!!! We hope... The room was lovely. Owners very nice and helpful. Breakfasts were very good. Great location close to everything. The park across the street was wonderful for viewing sunsets. Our second night when we wanted to get to bed early our neighbors didn't observe the quiet time and had their tv very loud. Nothing that the owners could have known though.... More

My husband and I stayed at the Painted Turtle for a romantic anniversary getaway. The Inn is not far from downtown at all but just far enough to be a relaxing private retreat. Christine and Joel were super friendly and inviting yet also took cues from their guests and gave them the amount of privacy they wanted. This was our... More

From the minute we arrived to the last minute of check out, we had a blast. The room was very clean well appointed as well as the entire property. There was a walking trail and beautiful property to enjoy your morning coffee exploring. The food was fantastic and the owner was more than helpful with recommendations and directions. It is... More

We rolled in just after a white-knuckled trip from Ann Arbor in a blizzard. Christine, the owner, was there with warm cookies, wine, and a smile. We asked for a tour, ooh'd and ahhh'd our way through the beautiful decor and amenities. Gorgeous place, every room. So enjoyed the hot tub, enormous comfy bed, and quiet, peaceful sleep. Breakfast was... More

My husband and I stayed at The Painted Turtle for our anniversary weekend. The rooms were artfully designed, clean and comfortable. The service was outstanding. The breakfast was the best I've had anywhere - even at home. Christine went above and beyond to accommodate my husband's gluten allergy. We'll certainly return -- multiple times!

The painted Turtle is probably one of the best B and Bs we have stayed at. Our hosts, Christine and Joel were wonderful. The whole experience was great. Breakfast was to die for. Started out with a fruit cup and was then offered a cup of oatmeal.. Not being an oatmeal lover, I refused. Joel asked if I would just... More
