I stayed at this hotel because I was with a large sports competition group and we had to stay at the same hotel. They told me they got us a special rate for everyone of 83.00 including tax. Now that I've read other reviews I see we all paid way too much! First of all I reserved the room with... more

Me and my friend were in town for a wwe event in downtown detroit, after a long haul flight we decided that the best thing to do would be to stop at the airport the day we arrived! we booked this hotel before we left the uk after reading what seemed to be good reports, how wrong were we! Looking... more

The hotel was freezing 24/7. I had to walk around with a heavy sweater the entire time. If you want a fridge you have to pay for it, but don't bother because there are no microwaves in the rooms anyway. The continental breakfast was terrible, I had to find coffee in the back room and get it myself. Don't count... more

I was referred to the Metropolitan by a friend so I contacted them to see if if they would be willing to cut me a deal, as I was on R&R leave from Iraq. A price was set at $65 a night for a suite (which at first glance was very nice) and my dates were set. Upon arrival, I... more

Hall Carpets and rooms need refurbishing... at the very least a deep cleaning. Elevators are extremely tiny -barely fit the luggage caddy...elevator in other tower out of order. Room keys would not open the pool doors, ice machines out of order. No wireless in the rooms...Non smoking room smelled strongly of smoke. To stay a week and left after one... more

Hotwire rated this hotel as three stars, but it does not compare with other three star hotels. The lobby is large and impressive, but once you get past the lobby things start to go downhill. The room is okay, but very dated. The furniture is old and worn. The bed was fairly comfortable and the best thing about the hotel.... more

Bid on Priceline in the Detroit/Wayne airport area for a 2.5* hotel. Accepted at $41/night by The Metropolitan Hotel. I have stayed here through priceline a few times in the past, and it gets worse every time. The Lobby is beautiful and you would think you got a great deal, that is until you set foot into the corridors leading... more

I was awarded the Metropolitan after bidding $45.00 on Priceline for a 3 star property in the Detroit Airport zone. It was a very reasonable price and facing a 10 hour layover after 18 hours of flying I was not overly concerned about the poor hotel reviews. I expected a reasonably decent large airport hotel that primarily services airline employees.... more

I found this hotel to be nice, but -- as others have mentioned -- a bit worn. (A "3" rating.) Not worth the regular rates, but good if you get "a deal." And I would stay there again, EXCEPT for one thing. Upon checkout, I found in addition to my restaurant charge a $2.75 "Hotel Energy Tax" added to my... more

This is a large hotel who's customers are mostly airline employees and business travelers. The rooms vary in size depending on the reservation, but all have beds with clean sheets, comfortable matreses, and four pillows per bed. The furniture is plane and the carpets are older, but clean. The bathrooms are spotless with thick and plentiful towels, but are older.... more
