Needing a place to stay for a weekend wedding, some locals suggested we try this place. No stranger to unique accommodations, we were all in. Built in the 1870's, this house once helped raised Grandma Chi Chi's family, now 5 generations strong. The accommodations were great, and breakfast was delicious. Best of all was the company of our hosts. They are such interesting people and had such great stories of their kids, lives and history in the town. She is a celebrity of sorts, having been the mayor of Rockford for 20 years. We were especially impressed that she even met Morris the cat. Wish I lived closer, I would love to stop by and have coffee with her and Larry. They had free wifi and their own signature blend of coffee which you can buy locally nearby. There is a shared bathroom but we were the only one's there on that November Saturday.

I stayed for one night so I could pick up my son from a leadership camp for Young Marines and take him to church Sunday morning. The room I had was clean, well kept, and comfortable. There is one bathroom that is shared by all guests, but disinfecting wipes and plenty of clean towels are available. There are restaurants, shopping, and an Emagine about 10 minutes away towards Grand Rapids. Breakfast is included, and the owners are very nice.

My wife and I and our four kiddos needed a place to stay after attending the Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival. We called literally every Hotel motel from Silver Lake to Holland everything was booked! We felt like we were at home upon first arriving. Grandma is very welcoming and provided anything we needed. $70 for a very nice sized room and descent breakfast was unbelievable especially with everything near booked! If you're in Rockford or near by and want great hospitality and yummy breakfast, with a grandmas home feel stop in this IS the place for you!!!

We felt welcome as soon as we arrived and were told to come in through the back door! Chi-Chi and Larry were great fun to talk to and shared lots of information about the town. The bedroom was comfortable and the bath very roomy. Breakfasts were great; the first morning the french toast was delicious and the second morning fried potatoes, eggs, and sausage rolls were my husband's favorite! Rooms are on the second floor and the stairs are steep, so if anyone has trouble with stairs the climb would be difficult.

My husband, sister and I stopped here for overnight stay on our way to Grand Haven. The hosts Chi Chi and Larry were wonderful and very accomodating. We actually felt like we were at our Grandma's house! Great location for walking to town. The bedrooms share a bathroom which we didnt mind and our room (the Blue Room) had a queen and twin bed. It was very comfortable and the house is extremely quiet. Served us a really nice breakfast too. Definately recommend staying here and we will be back.

I really enjoyed my stay at Grandma's House. Having lived in Rockford I knew the area and knew they were the perfect location for my stay. I didn't know I would get a great breakfast (since I was the only one there for breakfast most of the time, Grandma made my breakfast to order!!) and fantastic hosts! I felt at home right away, a nice feeling for a weary traveler. The place was easy to get in and out of and clean. The wi-fi worked great so I could keep in touch with family back home. Even though it is close to the road I never heard any road noise. Grandma said the house was well insulated for noise and she wasn't exaggerating, I never heard any of the other guests, even when they used the shower. I truly felt like I was the only one there. In short, if God is willing and I am able to return, they will be at the top of my list for accommodations. I'll call them first to make sure my chosen dates work, then plan the rest of my trip around that. The colors in fall are gorgeous and you can't beat fresh apple cider. I was treated to both while visiting the area!

Stayed here for a weekend away riding bikes on the rail trails. The "Mayor" and Larry are great hosts and a wealth of knowledge and local history. By the time we left, we were all family. Very close to downtown Rockford - 3 block, 5 minute walk. Beds were very comfortable. We always love talking to the other guests at breakfast. Only downside, if you are not accustomed to it, is the shared bathroom, but don't let that stop you from staying there.

This B&B has been open for 20 years. "Grandma", Chi Chi said it's mostly word of mouth & repeat business. She is a former mayor of Rockford! It was clean nice and a great value! FYI it is a shared bathroom. (Website says there are 2). I stayed during the week and there was only one other guest so it wasn't an issue. Parking was in a driveway. There was no TV in my room but there was wi-fi so I just played on my laptop. They do not take credit cards and told me when I made the reservation. I would stay here again and do recommend!
