My sister, my dog and I stayed in this great little motel. We stayed in #2 apartment which had 2 adjoining rooms (one with a sitting area) with queen-sized beds, a futon, a kitchenette, fridge, dishes, coffeemaker and microwave all for only $79.00, including pet and tax fees! It's a very humble place which I love, because old roadside inns... More

The hotel is about the only pet friendly hotel in the area. The room was clean, the heat worked well as the nights were cold, there was a mini fridge and microwave, & sink & cupboards. The Owner Michel was very nice & sat & talked with my wife & I a while. We would definitely recommend this place to... More

Tiny little overpriced room. However, it was nice to walk down to the lake, owner is very nice too. Clean, but old and tiny! I wouldn't stay again. They cramp two beds in a tiny room and charge as much as other hotels in the area.

My girlfriend and I stayed in a queen room and it was perfect for the two of us, actually pretty spacious compared to places we have stayed near other 'great' lakes. The main goal of our trip was to relax, catch some rays, swim and kayak; this was the perfect location! The beach was a 5 minute walk from our... More

The room is not big but was comfortable. We only stayed one night but If I wanted to stay in the area for a longer period I would look for a larger room. The bathroom is small but for 2 people it works. The rate was reasonable and the owner was very friendly. The motel has no ice machine but... More

I understand that the only reason people are giving this place good reviews are because they allow dogs, whoopty do. This place is over priced and super dumpy. Other guests are a questionable crowd. It is however a short walk to the beach, but I'd still wear sandals in the shower.

I came to stay a the Port Austin Motel because of the easy access to the beach. They are pet friendly and I could also take my dog on the beach here. Watching the sunset was amazing and relaxing! I planned on staying just Saturday but decided to stay Sunday also. It was not high season so not many people... More

Just returned from a 2 day stay at the Port Austin Motel. First, it is dog-friendly, yay! It is somewhat outdated, and the rooms are very small, but they are clean. Had a coffee maker, microwave and fridge. Close to the beach at the end of the street. Can't beat the location and price!

First of all completely outdated and dirty! Wires hanging from walls for TV. Dirty Carpet from the 70's. Dingy drop ceiling. Exposed wires on a wall where a thermostat was at one time. No iron or hair dryer in the room. Mismatched cabinets. Bathroom so small that you could rest your forehead on the sink while going to the bathroom.... More

The owners of this establishment are very friendly and helpful. It is obvious that they enjoy what they do. The rooms are small but very clean and well appointed. Yes, they are dated but that goes with the comfy feeling and the value given. It is only a short walk to a beautiful beach overlooking Lake Huron which we thoroughly... More
