My friends and I wanted to get together for a reunion and we chose The Candlewyck House in Pentwater. What a great idea! The owners were very hospitable and personal. The rooms were decorated tastefully and were very clean! I love the house. The food was fabulous! I would go back in a heartbeat; probably next year since they are... More

Spent a wonderful weekend at this beautiful place. John and Mary Jo made us feel right at home and took good care of us. We felt like we could come and go at will, and were like part of their family. The breakfasts were amazing and the conversations lively and fun. The town is so quaint and personable. Loved the... More

We were so lucky to stay with Mary Jo and John on our 5th Wedding Anniversary, and to share a lovely dinner with them at the Pentwater Yacht Club! They say that People Make your stay, and truer words could not be spoken. Our Fifth Wedding Anniversary was truly an event to remember, despite no fishing charter due to weather.... More

My wife and I have celebrated our anniversary in Pentwater for 10 years, and seven of those years have been spent at Candlewyck House. Our time there has become quite special, due in large part to the hosts, John and Mary Jo, whose major goal is the satisfaction of their guests. We enjoy the familial atmosphere and the unpretentious personalities... More

Great Bed and Breakfast! Very close to downtown and the beach, both were within walking distance but we had more fun taking the bikes that were available. John and Mary Jo were wonderful hosts, very friendly and outgoing. Breakfast was amazing, rooms are nice with roomy bathrooms. We had a great time and hope to stay again!

If you like dark, creepy , no security, nosey owners , this is the place for you! The rooms are at least 30 years out of date, smells like a bad cottage. Mostly it is the owners who bicker back and forth all day, and have at least one "helpful" scolding per day to dish out .... parking, breakfast time,... More

We apologize for anyone's less than perfect stay. Several hundred guests have stayed in that particular suite, our most popular room, and have not had a bad experience. We always strive to make all our guests' stays enjoyable. Perhaps this persons' expectations could not be met in a 150yr. old farm house turned bed and breakfast. More

Great Bed and Breakfast- Convenient located to Pentwater and Beach - we walked everywhere although there was a whole stable of bikes and there are bike paths nearby. Family style breakfast (scrambled eggs one pday, pancakes another) with heaping bowls of fresh fruit, personal teapots, multiple coffee pots, orange juice, biscuits or gingerbread muffins. The house is warm and inviting... More

John and Mary Jo were the perfect hosts. Very casual, down-to-earth, people. Our stay was very short, would have loved to stay a couple more days! Our room was cozy and inviting. We had a great time at breakfast - would definitely go back again!

We cannot say enough great things about Candlewyck House. John and Mary Jo were outstanding hosts. The atmosphere is warm comfortable and inviting. We had a spacious, private room, not typical of many B&Bs. The location is also wonderful- walking distance of the town and beach. Also enjoyed the delicious, home baked family style breakfasts. Undoubtedly best B&B in Pentwater.
