Cabin #3..... Lumpy mattresses (all 3 beds). Used chewing gum on window sill in 1 bedroom. Bathroom window curtain collapsed. Shower head was a raw pipe. The well water smelled like rotten eggs. Attic access in hallway covered by cardboard. Some windows were so drafty we had to stuff them with plastic bags to help keep the wind out. Pots... more

We stayed here for a second time. Wonderful location - you can see the wind farm across Lake Superior in Canada. OK rooms - wi-fi worked fine. You can walk to the restaurants. Close location to Tahquamenon Falls, Whitefish Point, Cranberry farm, Oswald's Bear Ranch, Soo locks, etc. Comfortable furniture on grassy overlook to Lake Superior - campfire at night.... more

We tried Curly's a few years ago, and now we try to make it up there every year. It is an older motel, and the rooms are spacious; they take pets; and we usually get a room with a nice-sized picture window where you can see the bay, which is thisclose to the motel. There are usually whitecaps on the... more

Found this place by chance. Perfect location at the intersection of WM-123 and Whitefish Road, lakefront view. Nice room, neither dirty nor clean. Average price ($70 included taxes) for a double room. Probably in the area there is something cheaper, but I would reccomend to stay at this place. more

We booked a large 2 bedroom house on the lake which upon arrival looked like it was furnished in the Nixon administration and never updated. Even the magazines on the coffee table were several years old. It was on the lake, but you had to scramble down a muddy bank to get to it and there was no beach. The... more

Stayed overnight in one of the highly overpriced cabins. Not dirty, but not clean, either (there were dried food scraps on the cupboard from the previous guest). Beds were clean, linen was clean but not enough of it. Old, dusty furniture. The whole place stank of dust, mildew, and ??? (afraid to guess!) Cabin is all dry rotting and falling... more

We rented Cabin #4. Overall, it was fine and had a kitchen with a microwave and an oven. The microwave is so old it took over 10 minutes to nuke a dinner plate that normally would heat up in 2 minutes at home. I'm pretty sure you can buy a microwave for about 50 bucks these days so I'm not... more

Oct. 2007 We were very pleased with our stay there a few weeks ago. We stayed there 14, 15, 17 & 18 years ago (back when they still had the vibrating beds!) and finally got to visit the U.P. in the fall again this year. Wouldn't have considered staying anywhere else. For an older place, the room was wonderfully updated.... more

I was just forced to check in to this dump, for which I paid a triple digit price (including tax). I feel a strong need to provide a fair warning to the potential customers that are considering this dump as their lodging choice in Paradise, MI. When I called the Curley's Motel over the phone a few days ago, I... more

Well I read the reviews and decided to take a chance since there isn't much available in Paradise. Paid $80.00 for a non-smoking room that smelled pretty smoky - plenty of cigarette burns in the carpet to confirm it was not a non-smoking room, lots of flies in the room, bed linens are really worn and didn't smell the greatest.... more
