I booked an overnight stay just a few days in advance. This is a nice spot -- very clean and quiet. Facility is nicely restored. View from the beach is stunning. View from the B&B itself may vary -- I was upstairs in room #4 and although the lake is visible when standing at the window and looking above the... More

Wonderfully clean, big bathroom. Gorgeous common room and library. We stayed in the Surfman room on the second floor with a view of the woods/partial Lake Superior. Nice and quiet, right on the lake...loved the Shipwreck Museum as well. Foghorn was going part of the time, and we saw ships and a bald eagle. Unfortunately this year the mosquitoes are... More

Beautiful home and we had the opportunity of having the entire quarters to ourselves. Great view of Lake superior and ships passing and of course awesome view of lighthouse at night. All staff were exceptional. And our stay was soon comfortable. So much history to see and read about. It's a must do and must stay.

What a great way to support conservation. Tasteful renovation with comfort in mind: large bedrooms, firm beds, private baths, and great TV and wi-fi service. You can socialize as much or as little as you wish. Nice library of books and and DVDs, spacious sitting room and large "cold" selection of breakfast foods. Only downside-quite a distance to any restaurants... More

Keep in mind that you need to check in before 6:00pm. We were cutting it close so we skipped stopping for dinner. Unfortunately, since it was so early in the season, the local Paradise restaurants were not open. So after checking in we headed back the 15-20 miles to Tahquamenon Falls lodge and a wonderful whitefish dinner with freshly brewed... More

I want to write such a glowing review you'll think I have been paid for it! Found this place on Trip Advisor and stayed 2 nights. Although other people were staying as well, it felt like we were in a private house of our own. The whole place is plainly yet tastefully furnished, with lots of pictures of ships on... More

Last year my husband and I went birding for the day at Whitefish Point. While there we saw that we could stay in the former Coastguard Crew Quarters and thought it would be fun to do so we came back and stayed for two nights. The room was very cozy and comfortable and the self-serve breakfast was just what we... More

My wife and I were lucky to spend the night of Oct. 12, 2013 at the USCG Crews Quarters. If you are looking for a rustic, original interior do not stay at the quarters. It is very modern and updated. We had a view of the bay and had an opportunity to see passing freighters from our room's window. The... More

We stayed for our first time and really loved it. Everyone was fantastic and met all our needs. Checked in several times to make sure all was well. Very nice self serve breakfast in a common area with some great people to visit with. There was also a nice little library area you could borrow DVD's and books from. I... More

I am sure that this place would be wonderful anytime during the spring and summer, but going in the fall is magical. We stayed the night to honor the anniversary of the sinking of the Edmond Fitzgerald. Our room overlooked the water and we could freighter watch right from our room. The peacefulness of this location is fantastic. There is... More
