We just returned from a weekend at Portage Point Inn, Onekama, MI. We happened upon this Inn last year on a trip up to Traverse City and upon first glance, it's adorable and quaint, so we decided to give it a try this year. For the money they charged for the room, the quality, cleanliness and service were not worth... more

My husband and I have been attending the Big Band dances for 7 years. This is an awesome place!! Yes, it is old. Thus, everything is not up to snuff. If you are looking for a plush place like Holiday Inn, this is not it. If you are looking for something old, quaint and fantastic, this is definitely your place!... more

Our week at the Inn in August is a family tradition for over 7 years. Our kids wouldn't allow us not to spend this week there every summer. It is more like a summer camp for families than a Disney style resort (which they also like..but is a completely different experience). The condos are great, wonderful views of Portage Lake.... more

Sunrise over beautiful Portage Lake or Sunset over stunning Lake Michigan, you choose, or see both, because you can in this great Michigan resort. This property has that old fashion resort feel with updated amenities. We like the Pavilion and Terrace Condos and pay for the lake view (not the corner view, the full lake view). The beach is 15... more

The property appears to be very cute and tidy as you approach, but beware of lodging in the original inn. It is unfortunately in total disrepair. The carpets are very soiled and freyed in the main hallways as well as the rooms. They've put what appears to be a few "no longer wanted" pieces of furniture in a couple places... more

Our entire family has been vacationing here for 1 week every July for the past 4 years and we love it. We all stay in the condos - some in the Terrace building, some in the Pavilion, and others in the Beach House. All are in extremely excellent condition, beautifully furnished and decorated. Very comfortable beds, well-supplied modern kitchens, clean... more

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary weekend. We reserved a Beech Lodge condo. The condo was very clean and well appointed. It was great to have a full kitchen, bath and living area. I had even prepared a dinner ahead of time so all we had to do was pop it in the oven. The only room... more

Hotel is in need of updating and a good cleaning. Meal plan has been scaled back while price has gone up. Some guests act like they own the place and gather in large loud groups without consideration, even significantly after "quiet time". On the other hand, there is not much for little ones to break. It is very family friendly.... more

The location on Portage Lake and Lake Michigan is superb. One of the problems is poorly trained dining room staff. Our first night (7 July) at dinner, it took 4 requests for wine: each time the barman had to excuse himself, since the cellar did not have the wines we ordered. He finally had to open a more expensif bottle... more

My Husband and I fell in love with Onekama this past spring and promised to return in the summer. We had read about Onekama being a great place to visit in "Traverse" Magazine and they mentioned the Portage Point Inn. What a great place! We decided to stay overnight for our anniversary. Once we arrived it seemed very romantic. We... more
