My husband found this cottage online and was super excited about it. The owner was very cordial and nice, and even offered us a larger cottage since the small newer renovated one bedroom one we stayed in did not have a lake view. However, the lakeview one smelled so moldy, that we decided to stay in the smaller one. The... More

We stumbled onto this great cottage! Our family of four had more than enough room in the two bedroom cottage. We were unaware that we needed linen but the owners did have some for visitors without. Satellite tv but who needs it when Lake Michigan is within your footsteps. Our kids did not want to leave the beach the whole... More

We have stayed here several times. The owners are very nice. Kitchen is fine in the two bedroom cottage, but you have to bring your own sheets and towels. The furniture is left over from the 1970s and is very used. I think it should be updated and replaced. Last time, the cottage was mildewy smelling, and I had to... More

We are constantly updating the cottages and furnishings but not every cottage gets updated every year and some do have antique furniture pieces which we thought added to the effect of being a Lake Michigan Cottage, not a home. That being said we appreciate the input and will continue to strive to keep our cottages clean and comfortable. Unfortunately our... More

We return each year to this extraordinary retreat. Extensive, beautiful grounds to include child's play area, fire pits overlooking the lake AND on the beach! Clean and comfy cottages with especially friendly owners. Booking is simple. Close to modern conveniences with so much to do. Aside from relaxing on the beautiful beach, one can go for a nearby dune buggy... More

My sister got married here a few years ago. There is a large green lawn on a bluff overlooking the beach, and it was beautiful. There are step that go down to plenty of private Lake Michigan Beach. There is a playground with swings on site that my kids loved to play on, and a basketball court. The owners were... More

My family (of 16), just returned from our vacation at Sunset Beach Cottages. We rented 3 cabins. Cabins #4 and #6 were both 2 bedrooms and were great, clean cabins. There's even satellite tv and fully stocked kitchens. #6 is a hair bigger and nicer than #4. Cabin #2 is a one bedroom tiny cabin that we were disapointed in.... More

Thank you for your review. Cottage #2 has been torn down and completely rebuilt since this review. It is our most up-to-date cottage now and is a number 1 choice for families of 4 or less. More

The grounds and beach were just beautiful. Loved the big lawn and beach access. Nice fire ring for campfires in the evenings. Great for kids and family groups, but the cottages were pretty gross. We had to clean when we got there. Smelled of mildew. Cottages really need to be updated and deeply cleaned.
