I have stayed in this motel many times - pretty much every time I am in the area. It's a bit kitchy, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. The suit works well for us as no one has to share beds. I will definitely continue to stay here!

This little place is immaculate! The owners are very friendly. If you are looking for a buch of ammenities, like the chains, forget it. This is a down home, sweet little place that reminds me of the motels of my youth. There was a clean bathroom, beds, and flat screen tv with wifi, so many nice things, but no blow... More

This is a very nice motel to stay at the rooms are clean and the owers are very nice. Rooms are not real big, but they are comfortable and decor is very up north. Price is very reasonable. They have coffee in office starting at 7:00, you can walk Newberry from this motel. Up that way give them a try.

Stayed at a few places in this area. Basically nothing open off season on US 2 from Brevort to Gould City off season. Good rate, like the others said it's dated but clean and warm. And believe me it gets cold up there in January , February. Very nice and plan on stating there again. Can't see forking out over... More

We arrived at about 8pm with no reservation in late September. The room was clean and the right price. No grimy bathroom here (fixtures replaced, nothing old), and while the room was dated, it was clean, and decorated more carefully than any other hotel room I've been in. Beds comfortable and hotel quiet (again, off-season). A breakfast was the only... More

This motel is cleaner than most private homes, lovingly preserved to it's period, and capably owned by a very kind couple. After a weary day of travel and beginning to feel like Joseph and Mary, my fiancee and I booked into the nightmare dump down the street from the Gateway (tip: do not stay at Zellar's for any reason; you'd... We stopped in Newberry for the evening and had read the reviews for the Gateway motel. This was the nicest and cleanest Vintage motel I have ever stayed in. The owner greeted us and was super nice. The rooms were outstanding. Plus if you like to read each room has a small bookshelf full of great books. What a great touch.I... More

Beautiful place to stay. close to the river and lots of places to see...very helpful to you..the rooms are always clean. the best part is talking to the owner about his daughter that is racing all around the U.P. By now she's got to be in college...

not all that much to choose from, its relatively clean, location is good. Just don't drink the water. You get what you pay for. The beds were ok. Check out knollwood inn, just a little down the road. !

Owner was not terribly friendly, but the room was fairly priced, and clean. Not real pet friendly, but not charged extra and he let my pup stay, but told us to not leave her in the room, which we wouldn't do anyway, for more than one reason. But, it was a decent place to stay, and nominally priced.
