The "Belle" is one of those BB's that someone forgot to tell they should act pretentious and refined beyond the reach of the little people! How do I know this? Because I met Robin and Doug two of the nicest and down to earth people you would ever want to meet. From the time you enter the old mansion your... More

Robin and Doug were very friendly and helpful. They had a bottle of sparkling grape juice and candy waiting in our room for our anniversary. We stayed in the Lumberman's room with our own bathroom. The bathroom was awkward with a step down and low ceiling. My one complaint, of all but one of the 4 B&B's we stayed at... More

This is a comment that does not arise from a stay, but from a planned stay that did not occur. We reserved a room at La Belle de la Rivere and had to cancel the day before we were scheduled to stay and well after we would have been entitled to return of our deposit. The proprietor said if he... More

Found this at Expedia and checked it out on TripAdvisor. It was about 45 minutes from where I needed to go to an event, but the closer places were so much more expensive, and reviews for La Belle were so positive, I decided to make the drive. I'm elated that I did. The place was cute, everything was homey and... More

We stayed on our way from Ohio to pick up our girls at Camp Newaygo. We were in the green room with a shared bathroom. The inn keepers are so nice, the rooms and bathrooms were clean (shared) and breakfast and the company was great. We arrived at 9:30 pm after driving from Ohio, and enjoyed a nice run in... More

Why stay in some bland featureless motel or hotel chain? The two best things about La Belle are the hospitality (and cooking) of Doug & Robin and the dining table, front porch and pavilion which encourages friendly conversation with the hosts and other guests. We will definitely return: highly recommended!

If you want to experience "southern" hospitality, this is the place to stay. The whole atmosphere is one of relaxation and comfort. The rooms are even more inviting than as presented on the web site. You won't find a Hilton or Marriott in the area but La Belle Bed and Breakfast offers you the same standards and amenities. If you... More

Doug and Robin are great! I will be back again. Second time I've stayed here! Beautiful rooms. I stayed in the Lumbermans room. Interesting history. R.K. Riblet owned the home! Lots of cute little shops in the area.

My husband and I were getting married in Newaygo because both of our families are from there, so we decided to try a bed and breakfast instead of a hotel room. It was a excellent choice. We stayed in the Lumberman's Room, the bed was super comfortable and the whole feel of the house was welcoming. We enjoyed breakfast with... More
