Didn't stay at the hotel but dined at the restaurent, the place is lovely, but disapointed with the meal, food was nice but so rushed we had a 3 course meal in 60 minutes, not impressed as soon as a course was done out came the other. Price was high for the food received and menu very limited. Found staff... More

The great fascination and excitement of travelling through France is that you never really know what you might find. Les Orangeries is just such a place, If you blink you will miss it as it is a rather tastefully restored old building on the side of the main village road of Lussac les Chateteaux. Not being one to pass up... More

Didn't stay at the hotel but had a lovely dinner in a covered-over courtyard which is beautiful. I had a salmon starter which was a one the best starters I've ever had. Followed by pidgeon which was excellent. My partner had spinach soup and asparagus risotto, which she enjoye. This place trades on its organic green status and a good... More

Celebrating my wife's birthday, we found the lunch top class: we had a lovely time. Service was very friendly, courteous and professional: the staff could not do enough for us. The meal was beautifully presented. There's Michelin quality here. Decor is tasteful . Some of the background matched the calm atmosphere. One window ledge could have done with a light dusting.... We stayed in Les Orangeries on our way back home through France at the beginning of September. When I made the booking I had asked the price and when told the price I had asked if it was per room or per person and was told it was per room. The price seemed appropriate as it was no longer high... More

Amazing property with enormous rooms, beautiful gardens and a wonderful pool. The smell of the open fire combined with the amazing aroma of huge baskets of oranges at the base of the grand staircase was the perfect introduction to this wonderful hotel.

Superb old building, we paid for an upgrade to the garden/pool view room as the room designated was too basic and very noisy due to traffic passing, the double glazing did not even touch it! The upgraded room was lovely but oh dear, the billiard games room was above us, the floor was wood so we could hear the players... More

Beautiful rustic hotel - great for a overnight stop. We all took advantage of the lovely weather and used the beautiful swimming pool. My husband and son ventured up stairs to play pool in the evening. We had a room right on the road, but the traffic did not wake any of us, and the family room was very well... More

Super decor............but EXTREMELY limited menu. Tonight`s choice was risotto or lemon sole, and that was it, apart from pigeon for a considerable supplement. From previous visits we know the quality is super, but I want a bigger CHOICE. We left after drinks only , and ate in Montmorillon instead. Worrying as a trend, as we usually eat here 4 or... More

We booked a table here for lunch as it is 20 mins from us by car and has a good reputation for food. Unprepossessing from the main road (and easily missed as on a busy main road) as a hotel, yet behind the discreet facade lies a gem. There was a choice of menu priced differently for weekdays and weekends... More
