My sister, who lives nearby, was under instruction to book somewhere nice for lunch as her birthday treat from us. She and her husband have only recently moved nearby so hadn't yet been to the restaurant. Off we went and boy are we glad we did. It couldn't have been nicer. A little light comedy at the beginning as we... More

Arriving here I felt a little disappointed that it was on the main rd but that quickly disappeared. You step into the most fabulous building, our room was stunning, full of character and despite being on the road, it was very quiet indeed. A lorry would go past and you could hear nothing. Nothing was too much trouble, we took... More

This wonderful hotel is one of the loveliest in which I have had the pleasure of staying! The building, grounds and decor are absolutely beautiful and a fine example of the French country style that is so coveted in the UK these days, there are vessels of dried hydrangeas and little relics everywhere you look. The staff were wonderful including... More

This is a pretty hotel in a lovely, unspoiled town. We stayed in a quirky and charming room on the ground floor that had an old-fashioned, sweet bathroom and which opened out onto the courtyard. We have a great friend who lives close by who came to dinner so we started with drinks on our own private bit of terrace.... More

Hello, it is good to hear you have really enjoyed the charm of our place as well as the food. Concerning the stand up shower, we share your preference. Showers are becoming the standard of comfort (which was not the case when we opened the hotel) while using less water. Consequently, all our recent rooms (located in the Annexe next... More

Didn't stay at the hotel but dined at the restaurent, the place is lovely, but disapointed with the meal, food was nice but so rushed we had a 3 course meal in 60 minutes, not impressed as soon as a course was done out came the other. Price was high for the food received and menu very limited. Found staff... More

Hello, sorry to have failed to anwer your expectations. As far as we remember, you arrived early at 7pm. All the restaurant team was on the set, surely too much. Obviously un" diner en amoureux" shouldn't be served at the same rhythm as a stop over. If you give us a second chance, we will pay a special attention to... More

The great fascination and excitement of travelling through France is that you never really know what you might find. Les Orangeries is just such a place, If you blink you will miss it as it is a rather tastefully restored old building on the side of the main village road of Lussac les Chateteaux. Not being one to pass up... More

Didn't stay at the hotel but had a lovely dinner in a covered-over courtyard which is beautiful. I had a salmon starter which was a one the best starters I've ever had. Followed by pidgeon which was excellent. My partner had spinach soup and asparagus risotto, which she enjoye. This place trades on its organic green status and a good... More

Celebrating my wife's birthday, we found the lunch top class: we had a lovely time. Service was very friendly, courteous and professional: the staff could not do enough for us. The meal was beautifully presented. There's Michelin quality here. Decor is tasteful . Some of the background matched the calm atmosphere. One window ledge could have done with a light dusting.... We stayed in Les Orangeries on our way back home through France at the beginning of September. When I made the booking I had asked the price and when told the price I had asked if it was per room or per person and was told it was per room. The price seemed appropriate as it was no longer high... More

Amazing property with enormous rooms, beautiful gardens and a wonderful pool. The smell of the open fire combined with the amazing aroma of huge baskets of oranges at the base of the grand staircase was the perfect introduction to this wonderful hotel.
