This is one hard business to be in but Isobel and Robert make it look so easy. I was in the region with a view to looking at property and this place was just lovely. Isobel picked us up from the train station at not such an early hour and could not have been more welcoming. This couple are a... More

We did not choose this personally, rather our friends who live in France did. But we were not disappointed. We were warmly welcomed by Isobel, who instantly suggested tea and brought some excellent home made chocolate cake, which was very nice. The rooms were spotless, bedding clean and comfortable. Very quiet location meant a good nights sleep too. Lovely view... More

Our room was excellent: the linen, bathroom fittings and breakfast were first class. The welcome was warm and friendly without being overwhelming. We would certainly go back - do give it a try

From the moment we crossed the threshold of La Nuit Charentaise if felt like coming home. Isobel and Robert, who own this beautiful house on the banks of the river Charente, welcomed us to their home like old friends with a welcoming glass of pineau by the river. The house is delightful, comfortable, clean and welcoming. Isobel and Robert are... More

I have never stayed in a place like this, Issabelle and Robert are so nice and the most helpful people, I have a wheat allergy and they went to great lenghths to get me specal bread to eat, and even gave me some to eat at lunch. We stayed there for 2 nights, but would have stayed longer. The beds... More

I stayed here for a couple of nights whilst attending a wedding. Everything was fresh and new, the lovely Scottish couple who own it couldn't have made me feel more at home. The garden was delightful, with the Charente river at the bottom. This is a real gem of a place I'd happily visit again.

We found La Nuit Charentaise by asking at the Tourist information office and what a find. Secure off road parking was essential for us and we were able to park in the owners large garage. Robert and Isobel made us so welcome. We had a pot of tea on arrival and our room overlooked the garden and the River Charente.... More

We stayed here for three nights. The rooms were clean and decorated to a high standard. Being on the river sold it to us. Beautiful garden.
