Enjoyed a lovely meal here in the summer with friends and family that were visiting us in St-Jean-le-Thomas, where we have a holiday-home. The service was very traditional and the biggest bonus was the use of the pristine swimming pool!

We drove up the coastline near Mont St. Michel looking for accommodation at other hotels and after looking at a few horrible shoe-box rooms, we were very lucky to discover this charming hotel. The prices were very reasonable, our rooms were large, clean and very comfortable (yes - the decor is dated but that is part of the charm). The... More

My husband and I took a two day break in St Jean le Thomas and despite some reviews we booked into Hotel des Bains and were pleased to be shown to a good sized room which was clean and had a patio window leading to a small balcony. We had excellent service in the pleasant dining room and food was... More

As part of our honeymoon, my wife and I did a walking tour of Normandy and Brittany along Mont-Saint-Michel Bay. We walked from town to town, staying in a different hotel each night. This hotel was seriously lacking. The rooms were probably last updated in the '70s, which in and of itself was not bad — there's a certain run-down... More

This is just not the sort of hotel you'll want to spend any time in. It has obviously lacked any investment since the 1960's. Rooms are very basic. Our room was not clean. The windows wouldn't open and there was black mould growing on the walls. The restaurant menu was uninspiring, food mediocre and service poor. Such a shame as... More

We stayed at Hotel des Bains for a few days mid week, having last stayed in the area some 25 years ago. It is clean, pleasant and reasonably priced but the rooms are very basic - not even a radio! The food is reasonably, if unexciting but the administration sometimes leaves a lot to be desired - keep all receipts... More

We have stayed in St. Jean Le Thomas for over 20 years. It is a lovely little village and very convenient for visiting Mont St. Michel without being in the middle of the touristy bit. We have stayed at Hotel des Bains and always love it. The rooms are small and quirky but the diningroom is lovely and has great... More
