We found our hosts Maureen and Ian to be very friendly and accommodating of all our requests. Ian's food and cooking is phenomenal, we wished we could take him back to our home town in South Africa to open a restaurant. With English as their home language, we found it great to be able to communicate and find out all... More

We stayed here for two nights in mid October. When we arrived it was as if they weren't expecting us, even though we had reservations for a long time before then. When we arrived the Manoir was dark and cold. I did not feel comfortable. When the place finally warmed up, Iain finally appeared and said what we would be... More

After research and planning, we determined to stay in one place for all of our 6-7 nights in Normandy. With this very central location, we drove each day less than one hour to all the must-see sights. Booking was incredibly easy, and the owners were helpful and prompt with replies and information. Upon arrival, Iain greeted us warmly, carried our... More

We arrived from Giverny having stopped on the way to purchase cheeses and cider along the cheese and cider routes. Ian showed us to our top floor room (no elevator so he helped us with our bags) which was spacious, beautifully decorated and overlooking the trees and grounds below us and in the distance. I told Ian that the pictures... More

The Manoir de la Riviere in the tiny hamlet of St Louet sur Seulles, Normandy is a gem. The 16th Century staircase creaks a welcome ! Iain, the owner, manager and chef is a charming and thoughtful host. The meals are a truly memorable – among the best we’ve eaten anywhere. We had room 3 in the rafters. A huge... More

We had a lovely stay here whilst in Normandie. Ian and Maureen are the owners and Ian is a great chef, cooking delicious meals for us. The farmhouse is 16th Century and full of character. The garden and grounds are beautiful. We sat outside in the evening having a cocktail (honour bar system) with canapés followed by a delicious 4... More

The Manoir is oozing with history, charm and character, while at the same time providing comfortable and fairly modern accommodations. We just returned from a six-day stay there for the World Equestrian Games which were held in Caen (25 mins away) and Haras du Pin (1 hour away). After three days of equestrian sport we visited the D-Day landing beaches... More

A truly relaxing stay helped by our lovely hosts Ian and Maureen. Wonderful service and fabulous food. The evening meal is four courses of delight. There is no choice but give Ian enough notice (I don't eat meat and we also have a 5yr old) and he produces a very enjoyable meal for all. Easily the best food we had... More

The Manoir is a gem of a place just a little off the beaten track...but well worth the effort of visiting. It's an imposing 16th C manor house set in its own extensive grounds and which has been impressively restored and tastefully refurbished. Our bedroom was large, quiet and relaxing with top quality antique and vintage furnishings and decorations and... More

This is a very special place in a quiet rural backwater just south of Bayeux. As soon as you turn off the road onto to the long gravel drive, guarded by two massive stone lions, you know you are in for a treat. The house is a grand stone manoir dating from the late 16th century, with an imposing facade... More
