Although it was a perfect summer evening the staff refused to serve dinner on the terrace - one of the reasons we'd booked the hotel was to eat on the terrace. They muttered about recent storms meaning some tidying up needed to be done but basically they just couldn't be bothered to straighten out the tables and chairs. One often... More

This hotel really attracted us due to its location and history. It is a really beautiful building with wonderful ambience. However there were disappointments. On our arrival our reservation couldn't be found but after a heart stopping moment we were assured we would be accommodated. The rooms are basic but in keeping with the age and style of the building.... More

This hotel is set in an enchanted village , out of the beaten track , close to beautiful mountains The hotel was an old army school, and the building is set in a commanding position among the little village houses . It is a beautiful place for those who love the magic of the old stones . Service was nice... More

Reception and restaurant staff were excellent. Parking off-site was secure. Comfortable bed and spacious room. Bedroom, Bbathroom and toilet were clean, but both doors were in need of a thorough clean. Impressive building, but public areas in need of some repair. Good breakfast, but restaurant disappointing with too many conflicting tastes on the plate - chef trying too hard too... More

We stayed three nights here while exploring around and were very comfortable. The bed was the best of our trip, the cleanliness was good - even though there were scuff marks on some of the paint. The bathroom was excellent - the macerating sewage system was a bit noisy, but not a problem. The view of the gardens was lovely... More

It is a gorgeous place with a horrendous service. The Hotel Abbaye Ecole de Soreze is a wonderful castle with a lot of history. The great educator priest Pere H.D. Lacordaire lived there in the early XIX century, then it was converted to a military school and now it is a terrible hotel. I will illustrate the service with an... More

Nice atmosphere to the whole place, however do keep in mind that this was an abbey, so it has the abbey charm. It was not built to be a hotel but tuned into one. Pros: Very friendly staff Free internet throughout Nice breakfast Lovely village and hotel settings New bathrooms Point to take in mind You need a car Its... More

I stayed here for one night last week with a friend. I was called on the day I was due to arrive and someone from the hotel left me a message telling me that they had no rooms available - although I had made the booking over a week before - so they had put us into a hotel in... More

The hotel is an ancient monastic school. The buildings are beautiful. Stayed in the 3* section. Rooms Spartan (it was not a pupose built hotel, and this has it's own charm) but adequate, lovely view, peaceful and quiet. Soreze is a gorgeous GORGEOUS little town. Very quiet with only two restaurants and one pub in addition to the hotel. Service... More
