This hotel took us to exactly where we wanted to be. It was full of character and our hostess was waiting for us and greeted us by name as we arrived. The room was a bit tired looking but provided us with all we needed for a comfortable nights sleep. The dinner and breakfast were both good. It is a... More

What we liked best about the hotel was its slightly off-beat character. The deco was a bit outdated, but in a charming 1950s-hunting-lodge sort of way. The lady running the place was friendly and entertaining, and even though she seemed to be wearing several 'hats' (receptionist, maitre d', bartender), we never had to wait long for service. Dinner was delicious,... More

Le Marbore is a quirky establishment run by quirky owners - this is means it will not be to everyone's cup of tea but we really enjoyed it. However Mrs TBD did not spend too long downstairs due to the plethora of stuffed wildlife! The hotel and our room were clean and tidy although our (room 5) bathroom must be... More

The hotel fulfilled our requirements. The rooms were clean and large enough and the dinner was adequate, although we felt it was expensive for the quality. Gavarnie is an amazing place in the daytime, but goes very quiet at night. probably because most people are walking.

A hard week walking in the French Pyrenees brings to this small village of Gavarnie. The Hotel Le Marbore is well worth a try, clean comfortable rooms with excellent staff to provide advice and assistance. Meals are filling and there's plenty to choose from. The only down for the hotel, no lift so get a room on the lower levels,

The Patron and his wife worked hard to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The food was good, the bedrooms well maintained, clean and comfortable and the bar area had an open fire and a good atmosphere. The decor is quirky but the range of old photos of Gavarnie are very interesting

It is quite an effort to get to Garvenie, but it is well worth it when you do even though the town is a little 'touristy'. This hotel is one of several in the town, and seems to be run buy a man and wife team who went out of their way to make you feel comfortable and to cater... More

Pleasant and helpful staff, excellent meals, fair sized rooms and a good location make for a very pleasant stay. The decor downstairs is somewhat quirky - stuffed fox heads wearing sunglasses etc but if you can take that it is an excellent place to stay and Madame is always helpful and pleasant.

Have stayed here twice for a total of 6 nights, so feel I have a good understanding of this establishment. First, it is in an excellent location - easy access to the trailheads and the town of Gavarnie (I'm always suprised just how small a town this is). The owners take great pride in their establishment, so it's kept impeccably... More
