Unfortunately, we only stayed one night as it was a short stopover between Carcassonne and Dijon. If we had known how amazing this place was, we would have stayed much, much longer. It is such a beautiful hotel and the staff was so friendly. Everything about this hotel was perfect. It is charming, romantic (even with an 8-year-old along), extremely... More

We stayed here for a night. What an amazing place. Unfortunately we couldn't stay longer but we really enjoyed everything. It might be kind of pricy but believe me if you really like to experience a relaxing natural feeling don't hesitate to stay there. Collias is already a beautiful place and this hotel makes it extraordinary. You have to pay... More

We were shown to a room at the top of the building but there were too many stairs. However it might have been a better room than the one we eventually accepted, I don't know. Our room was very cramped with an "afterthought" bathroom that felt added on - which was extremely cramped. The mattress had rips on the corners... More

Dear mister and madam, we are also very disappointed to read your comments as we always try to do the best for our customers. If the room was to high we could have given you a room in the first floor. Our maitre d'hotels is not near the retirement and is very appreciated, some people come only to see him.... More

Cycled from Graveson to Collias and arrived on a very hot afternoon at this quaint hotel high up in the village of Collias. Hot and thirsty in sweaty cyclewear we were kept waiting in the small reception while an austere elderly receptionist chatted on the phone. Eventually she noticed us and summed a porter and returned to her telephone call.... More

We were part of a small group tour and spent two evenings there. We enjoyed the lovely outdoor patio and secluded pool. Breakfasts were simply wonderful. The feeling is one of a small, family run inn and so we were surprised to find the dinner menu was magnificent, there being a very first class chef in attendance.

What a little gem of a find..but a bit of a trial to find it. Not their problem. Beautiful welcome, extremely friendly and helpful staff. Nice bedroom overlooking the church. We ate outside on the terrace above the pool area....astro-turf (I think) but it was stunning. Supper was very good but we ordered lobster as a special treat for my... More

We walked into Collias mid afternoon and found the hotel with no problem and were made very welcome and shown to our room. The room was spacious and well laid out, lovely bathroom with separate shower and bath. The bed was a good size, OK but not exceptionally comfortable - the settee was really comfortable to lie on the read... More

Called me old-fashioned but Zebra-themed bedrooms and bathrooms with chandeliers perched in perspex boxes at the end of the bath in the Gard, perhaps the most rustic and rugged of French departements, seems, well, off, ill-judged....which is a pity because the place is run by lovely people and the restaurant, despite the mildly theatrical presentation which gets in the way... The food was the best with one of France's past number one chef's there. The hotel was a treasure with stone patios covered with canopies from trees. The restaurant is apparently closed two weekdays so make sure if you want to appreciate all they have to offer it isn't one of those day. However one of the three nights we... More

We stayed at this hotel on our way to Provence. The GPS has a bit of difficulty - or I had difficulty following it as we first came to the back door of the hotel. But some local advice pointed us down a narrow alley and around the corner. I was very glad to have personal directions to the parking... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Charm and elegance between Provence and Languedoc. The Aparis family has welcomed guests since 1989 in the medieval village of Collias. The Hostellerie Le Castellas is a group of 17th century buildings, restored in the manner of the stones of Vers Pont du Gard and the delightful style of the Languedoc region. Each room is individually decorated in a variety of styles from art deco to art nouveau and even baroque. A touch of modern comfort completes each one. Two magnificent stone vaulted lounge rooms open on to the zen shady garden planted with a variety of species. Below this garden, a swimming pool with jacuzzi is an invitation to calm and relaxation. Here the word pleasure takes on its full meaning as everything is designed for the well being and enjoyment of our guests. Areas for relaxation, original or charming details form a brilliant combination of materials, colours and light. In this utter haven of peace and gourmet pleasures, the Hostellerie Le Castellas welcomes you for an idyllic stay. ... more   less
