Our "luxury" travel agent booked this hotel for us. It is in a rural Frence town near Dijon (20Km). The Chateau is attached to the local church and gives the feel of a real french town. The grounds are beautiful as is the hotel. After we arrived, they showed us to our room. We were taken up and down staircases... more

I stayed in August 2008 with a dozen friends and family. Everyone loved it from the 8-year old to the grandparents. The chateau and grounds are stunning in a classic french style. You would not call it sleek and modern. We enjoyed the breakfasts, wine on the terrace, the pool, biking, and the surrounding villages. The formal restaurant was only... more

This hotel has positioned itself as a luxury hotel with the price tag to match and it failed miserably to live up to expectations. The hotel its self was very shabby, the rooms very disappointing, the grounds unkept and the pool area well below standard. The only saving grace was the fact that the service from the staff was generally... more

24th June 2008 On arrival at about 1915 I unloaded my bags from the car in plain view of the reception, no concierge came to help and I had to go and ask for help. Check in was brief, no mention was made about SLH and there was certainly no welcome. The reception was stiflingly hot and uncomfortable. A concierge... more

Just one night, but wish we had more time. The hotel is fantastic, the staff is wonderful, and the experience was great. Be prepared to pay, but it is well worth it. more

Arriving at the Chateau left us feeling like we'd lost our breath - the chateau itself and grounds are very impressive. We'd decided to treat ourselves for 2 nights of our honeymoon at this hotel. Sadly after arriving, the breath taking feeling was more of a choking around the throat! Although service from the front desk initially was great (we... more

We stayed at Chateau de Gilly during a 3-night trip to the Burgundy region in Feb. 2008. The hotel is in a gorgeous 14th century chateau located on a beautifully maintained estate. The formal gardens, moat, and stone buildings around the grounds transported us back in time... The staff and service were excellent - very welcoming and accommodating of special... more

Magnificent property inside and out is the first thing that strikes you. All staff were helpful and friendly enough. Dinner in the ancient cellar restaurant was excellent - wonderful food fabulously presented with smooth service, keeping their distance to allow us time and space to enjoy our meal and environment. The wine list was a wonderful read with a massive... more

Upon arriving at the Chateau, we were very impressed. The hotel exterior and common areas are beautiful, and the grounds are lovely. We were escorted to our room, which was very big with a fireplace and multiple large windows with multiple views. While the room was somewhat shabby in decor, we were happy with it as we felt it captured... more

We have stayed at this hotel twice before but, alas, we will not be doing so again. The two rooms we had, at 260 euro each, were pricy. But although there was air conditioning installed, it didn't work. The provsion of a fan in each room was a poor and noisy substitute. Not ideal when temperatures reach 31C. But the... more
