You like French food? Go to Chateau de Saulon. You will stay in a Chateau and have lovely food in wonderful surroundings; and all along, smiling and welcoming staff, be it at the reception or in the restaurant. Some rooms - unfortunately one we were in - need a bit of upgrading; so, for now, avoid the third floor; next... More

You have nothing to complain about when it comes to views here.. It's endless. My husband and I walked around for hours in the beauty. There are trails around the property. There is also a lot to do as they have a horse you can ride, tennis courts, the pool and hot tub, and table tennis. However.. I do have... More

What a fantastic experience. The grounds of this chateau-hotel are beautiful, the rooms were great with a wonderful decor. The staff was friendly and the three course meal was amazing. Everyone was sorry to leave in the morning and were very happy with their stay here.

The property is very impressive coming in with a real old world chateau feel to it. The check-in was efficient with minimum fuss although no help was offered in taking our luggage up to our rooms. The rooms as some of the other reviewers have stated, are nothing special. However, I still felt they were value for money and we... More

This is supposed to be a region of great hotels and fabulous restaurants… but it certainly doesn’t apply here. Mind you, looking at the Chateau from the outside and the immaculate surroundings, the impression you get is pretty good. But then, when you check into your ‘superior room’, you realize that the word ‘superior’ doesn’t mean the same to everyone.... More

We stayed here en-route to Provence in August. The staff were friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was most welcome after our long drive - the children also enjoyed table tennis and tennis at the hotel. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was fantastic - both the degustation menu and the a la carte were... More

We booked this hotel en-route to the south of France as a journey half way stage to relax with the family after a day’s driving. The room was great; the swimming pools just what was needed after a day in the car and the gardens were fabulous to walk round; next he restaurant; it was to die for (we had... More

Poor and small rooms (which they call superior). I paid twice the rate of a 5star hotel, but ended up in a tourist trap. Avoid the expensive and mediocre restaurant, as well as the industrial croissants for breakfast. When you are in the middle of the burgundy its a real shame to waste your time here.

Very pleasant hotel, spacious room, good bedding, good soundproofing, Bath, shower, separated toilet and all very clean. Outside you find a decent sized, heated, pool, surround by a very beautiful domain. The restaurant, which is in a separated building, calls itself “Gastronomic”. This said you can’t serve over cooked fish at those prices. (30€). The “maître d’hôtel offered us a... More
