This was a welcome stopover travelling from the UK to Italy. It is a lovely converted farmhouse (?) and very convenient as it is just off the motorway. The decor is somewhat interesting, as it is slightly quirky, some may say old-fashioned but we thought it was great-much better than the utility-type plainness you see so often. The evening meal... Very nice hotel, well kept. Decoration is tasteful, but somewhat old fashioned. We stayed in december, so we can't say anything about the garden. The restaurant was good, more than sufficient for a short stay. The hosts are friendly and very helpful. However, The beds were hard and I woke up feeling all battered and bruised. Still, for all its qualities,... More

Its been a few years since we last took the opportunity to stop with this lovely friendly family and their delightful hotel. Initial concerns that it could have changed for the worst were soon dispelled and the warm reception made us feel right at home. Yes the furnishings are chintzy and old fashioned but this is entirely appropriate to the... More

Located in a small village nearby Mâcon this pretty lodge is probably a refurbished farm or country house with a nice garden and a small pool. We had a superior room on the ground floor, quiet, tidy bathroom, but with furniture and bedding quite outdated. A small investment in a new sound matress, pillows and a duvet would greatly lift... extremely charming hosts. Hotel located in old farmhouse, very nicely restaured but with conservation of original building and interior. Nice salon and restaurant setting. Well equiped bedro served in the nice salon. This not the Ritz but a niece surprise for one or a few nights when passing by, en route to or from holiday destination.om, spacious, in authentic style... More

Extremely charming hosts. Hotel located in old local farmhouse, very nicely restaured but with conservation of original building and interior. Nice salon and restaurant setting. Well equiped bedrooms, spacious, in authentic style with small private terrace. Equiped as french rural bedrooms from former times. Excellent restaurant, only for guests, with limited menu and excellent wine. The owner cooks the menu for... More

A unusual property, originally a small farm house, now a very accommodating Hostellerie. Family run and real old fashioned French hospitality. Large gardens with an assortment of animal and birds plus an outdoor pool for summer use. Plenty of free parking. Traditional regional French internal decoration with large open log fireplaces. Bedrooms are large, sombre colours, TV etc. Restaurant serves... More

This is very conveniently placed just east of Macon - and the restaurant is open on Monday! It has lovely grounds with pool and lots of places to sit and muse. The rooms are huge and comfortable with quality furnishings and all open out into the well kept grounds. It was autumn and the fire was lit in the lounge... More

We stayed at the Sarrasine on our way south to Provence, and changed our plans to stay there again on the way back. A truly charming place, traditionally French in decor and atmosphere, with a friendly welcome from the hosts and excellent food. The set menu looks limited in choice, but we encountered no problem in substituting alternatives from the... More

We stayed here twice, in Replonges, just east of Macon, and each time for a couple of days on our way elsewhere in France, and both times departed happy. A good base to taste Macon and the Beaujolais area. Décor is traditional rural France. The small number of rooms open onto a leafy garden which includes a sizeable pool, very... More
