The hotel has two faces. From the front of the hotel, it looks dowdy, and unwelcoming, the reception areas are tired, and the first impression not good. But once you're in the hotel, well, it is a different story. Our room was comfortable with a terrace overlooking the Loire, and a great bathroom with a good easy to use shower.... More

I spent one night there for a wedding. The room was good (newly refurbished), clean and the space sufficient. The view on the Loire was stunning. At the opposite, I found the owners unfriendly. I had the feelings to disturb them when I checked in and checked out. At that time, they were not in a rush....no client on sight.

Very friendly and welcoming staff, a large clean room with all the necessary amenities and the most fantastic food, both for dinner and breakfast. OK so very little English is spoken by most of the staff, but schoolboy French helped us and if needed the owner/chef spoke fluently. We were in France ! Do our small rural hotels have staff... We have holidayed in France for over 30 years, visiting all regions and we consider this the best small hotel we have stayed in and one of the best restaurants we have eaten in. We really do not understand the negative reviews on this site. We stayed on two separate occasions on this trip, experiencing both a room with the... More

We booked for a single night, but enjoyed such a superb dinner that we promptly decided to stay an extra day in order to try the Menu Gourmand, which did not disappoint – the Hotel owner/Chef apparently did a couple of decades at the Ritz in Paris and it shows: Not only was each course cooked superbly and beautifully presented,... A small hotel, situated close the Loire river in the heart of wine country. Inviting terrace for drinks, or up market French dinner under tree canopy, looking down onto the Loire. Room was good and clean with a large terrace looking over the Loire. Bathroom well equipped, but shower not thermostatic so went hot and cold if others used water.... More

We found this hotel through European destinations. Although we read some of the bad reviews, we decided to take a chance since we were only going to stay for one night. When we were checking in, the lady at the front desk (whom we later found out is the chef's and owner's wife) would look at us and talk in... More

I expected more for the money. The room was small but the bed was amazing. The bath drain didn't work. The patio was fine, but not great. As owners they are completely disconnected. She sadly was coughing and very sick upon my arrival, and staff should have covered for her.. I found them on Booking.com. BUT the expense for food... More

We had a delicious lunch under shady trees on the banks of the Loire. The chef came our to chat to us about the local ingredients eg. Poached egg in mushroom and wine sauce - a Burgundy regional dish. Highly recommended.

The welcome, environment, atmosphere and of course the food, all contributed to a wonderful, relaxing few days. This unassumingly quiet little hotel noted for its food did not disappoint. The menus ranged in price but remained high quality on presentation and flavour. The wine list was a good mix of local, regional and international wines of quality and of of experience. This was...
