Recommended by our favorite travel writer, this hotel was even better than we expected. The location was an ideal home base for exploring Brittany and a welcome interlude from playing tourist. Nothing was quite so magical about our visit, however, than waking up to the incredible view of the countryside surrounding the Rance. We enjoyed chatting with Patrick and Anne-France... more

Just spent three nights at this very special place in Brittany. It is not far from both St Malo, Dinan or Dinard. The reason it is so special, is that it is located among rural farmland and near the banks of the river Rance, making it so peaceful. The Patron and owner(Patrick) and his wife (Anne-France) are young and totally... more

Very spacious and comfortable rooms (with modern baths) in a restored farmhouse in a serene setting overlooking the River Rance near Langrolay and Plouer-sur-Rance. It's a great base from which to visit our favorite cities in the area: Cancale, Dinan, Dinard, and St-Malo. This was our 4th stay here. We like it because it's clean and well maintained; the hosts... more

We stayed at Manoir de Rigourdaine for two nights in September, 2008. It was a lovely place to use as a homebase to see Brittany's emerald coast. Location: Have to drive down a pretty remote driveway and country road, but this is part of the charm! Absolutely lovely spot, overlooking the Rance river. Tons of parking. Easy drive to Dinan,... more

We stayed for two nights in August. 2008. The room was pretty, clean and peaceful. Bathroom perfectly adequate. The owners were charming and very helpful. We would certainly return and would recommend the hotel unreservedly. more

Our time at this hotel was a "time out of time." The property is beautiful, serene and peaceful. The rooms are immaculate and updated. This restored French Farmhouse is a masterpiece that sits in stunning French countryside with views of the grand Rance River with boats and working farmhouses. The owners are wonderfully helpful and Patrick speaks impeccable English. The... more

We toured France for 10 weeks and stayed in 12 hotels, 2 houses, 1 cottage, and 1 loft. Of the 12 hotels we've stayed, Manoir de Rigourdaine was by far the best. The owner Patrick van Valenberg did a wonderful job of restoring the old farm house and adding a brand new wing. It is situated on a beautiful piece... more

While I generally agree with most of the other reviews of this hotel which describe the host as warm and friendly, the rooms as simple but comfortable and the location being a good base for day trips in Eastern Brittany, I would not stay here again. The problem was the bathroom in our room had a floor drain that exuded... more

Yes you had a room for disablbed people, the hotel was full and as you did stay one night, we did not think it can be a problem. The wheelchair has to be able to go in the room, so this is the reason it is not as well furnished as the other rooms. I am surprised about the smell...

Beautiful, rustic hotel which felt like staying in a villa that provided everything we were looking for and more. The room was large, comfortable and unpretentious. Off the beaten path - the hotel is extremely peaceful. The grounds and views are breathtaking. The owner Patrick was warm and welcoming. The value for the price was exceptional. We will definitely return on... more

This hotel is hard to find but also missing a star. We found this in the Rick Steve's travel book and my wife worried that we would be out in the boonies with shared bathrooms, living out of a back pack, etc. It didn't help when we finally found it and the sign displayed two(2) stars. However, it is a... more
