Good location close to autoroute.. Nice house and reasonably priced meal. Large comfotable room but we were very disappointed that the show cubicle had black mould on it. But for that would have given it a very good rating

As you can see from other reviews this place really is truly special, it manages to capture not just the standards of a high class hotel but a home, with Rinse and Renee really great hosts, we stayed for two nights and booked the evening meal for both nights, my wife who is a real foodie fan thought Rinse cooking... Thank you Rinse and Renee for a truly wonderful 4 night stay at a Chateau Julie. An absolute highlight in our seven week European holiday. Beautifully furnished rooms, large bedrooms, fabulous breakfasts, a wonderful 3 course meal enjoyed in the garden along with your invaluable advice on what to see and do made this 4 very memorable days. Loved coming... More

The staff are very pleasant but the house is very tired and in desperate need of a refurbishment. There is no shower. There is no elevator and our room was on the second floor. Definitely not for elderly or disabled people. Location isn't really that great except that it does have parking. Garden isn't particularly attractive and very close to... More

Great welcome, great wine, great food, lovely room. Only stayed one night on a long trip to Spain, but wouldn't hesitate to go back. Would make a great base to explore the region and so much better than staying in traffic-chocked Bordeaux.

An absolutely beautiful building with wonderful hosts just 5 minutes from the motorway. We booked Chateau Julie as a stop off between the ferry port at Roscoff and our final holiday destination in Lot-et-Garonne. We were delighted to find a hotel full of character where period furniture was being used (as opposed to displayed) and welcoming hosts in Rinse &... More

This working chateau is just fabulous! The hosts will do almost anything to make your stay a pleasure. They booked us a couple of winery tours and recommended some good local restaurants. The closest one had the best sole I have ever eaten.

We spent a night at Chateau Julie as a stopover in driving from Dordogne to Normandy, and it proved excellent in all respects. Location was perfect for our purposes, since the hotel is just minutes from the motorway. Unfortunately, our stay coincided with Rinse's travel, so we were not able to sample his cooking. Renee was an attentive and energetic... More

We stayed at The Chateau twice on our way to and from Portugal, and on both occasions after a long drive we arrived to a wonderful warm welcome from Rinse and Renee. We were shown to the "Portugal room" which was a fluke as they didn't know we were going to Portugal the first time. Lovely spacious, clean room with... More

My friend and I were on our way down from the Channel to the Ariege and this was a perfect stopover in all respects. The rooms were huge, cool (even in 34 degrees) withouot being air-conditioned and the dinner at the communal table was a delight. After a long day on the motorway Chateau Julie was an idea place to... More
