Can't heap enough praise on Jacky and his his team here. A fine French peaceful retreat. Have made time to stay each August for many years. Spotless, well manicured but unpretentous and civilised. Very reasonably priced and a fantastic dining experience for both the evenings and breakfast. Very reasonably priced given the sheer quality of the offering. Superb. Wifi not... More

I can't believe it took me over a year to write this review. We stayed here for several nights while attending a wedding offsite. Our room was lovely and had the same wonderful view of the valley that you get from the restaurant and pool. The daily breakfast was quite nice, and well stocked. The staff were very nice and... Another really enjoyable visit to this lovely hotel! Our favourite room, 5, was ready for us as always when we arrived early afternoon, and in the beautiful pool by 3! Dinner as always was amazing, with a new chef maintaining the high levels we had experienced over our previous visits. We spent 2 nights enjoying St Emillion again but just... More

This is a delightful château, in a wonderful part of the Bordeaux region. If you want to stay in a calm, quiet place between visiting the different wineries and cities, this is great. Just a 20 minute drive to St. Emilion. We arrived a saturday night in july, after booking the same day, and soon realised we'd gotten a good... More

This small hotel is set on the side of a hill overlooking fields and vineyards. The view from the the terrace, where all meals are served if the weather is good, is magical. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is excellent. The three course supper costs 30 Euros and is very imaginative. There is a limited choice,... More

With absolutely no clue as to what we were getting into I reserved the hotels gite because it was close to the wedding venue. Arriving from Canada via the UK we rolled in fairly certain we'd made a wrong turn somewhere. Five greatful adults and one exhausted baby (whose bottle was on E )were shown very efficiently to our lovely... More

Great Hotel ticked away where you won't find it. Unless you are looking. Wonderful location with valley views over vineyards and small farms. Excellent restaurant where there are views from the terrace and inside the conservatory restaurant. Great welcome from the manager and his team

Hidden away this place is quite a little treasure. The hotel sits proudly on top of a hill overlooking vineyards (well we are in the wine country!). The restaurant is spacious and has a terrace positioned to take in the glorious views. When we visited it was very quiet but it was a Monday evening. The service was good and... More

We have returned to Chateau de Sanse 8 times in the past 14 years for stays of 3 to 5 days at a time. It is rural. It is quirky. It is peaceful. It has great food. We ate the entire menu in the past 5 days. Yum and more yum Each room is unique. Each room is roomy and... More

I have to agree with TravelGeeks2009, this is a mediocre hotel, in need of attention. Quick notes: Great staff Lovely grounds Bugs! (Although traps and spray provided) Stained, mildew smelling carpet No A/C (fan provided for one room) WiFi all but non-existant; TV hardly better At dinner, seated next to horrifically loud and crude English group when other tables were...
