I'd like to thank the staff for welcoming my friends for which I had to book and pay over the phone, from Australia. They were very professional, understood what we needed, and had great ideas. My friends loved their full experience.

I've got mixed feelings about the Manoir - the setting is stunning and the food competent but our visit to the restaurant in a group of five was marred by appalling service and the 35 Euro Decouverte set menu ended up costing around 90 Euros a head with the added cost of an aperitif each and two average-priced bottles of... Dear Sir, Dear Madame, I am terribly sorry that your experience in our restaurant was not what you expected. I am rather surprised at some of your description as we do not have a 35 euro menu .Are you certain you were in our restaurant? We take the order for the meals while our guests are sitting by the fire... More

This is like stepping back in time. In many ways good...but here it is also bad I am afraid. Perfect positioned down a little private road next to the cliff, is this old manor. Also an old mill and you still have the water flowing past the mill. This makes for a perfect spot next to the water for dining.... More

I really do not have words for this hotel. There are not good enough words to describe the beauty, the sense of peace, the impeccable gardens and grounds. I felt like I was in a movie about 17th France. Like I had stepped into a French novel. Not only were we greeted with warmth right away, the staff continued to... More

I have never felt compelled enough to write a review on this site, before having visited Manoir d'Hautegente. The setting, on a warm summer's evening is simply magical, the care and attention from the owners is second to none. The knowledge of their menu/ produce again is brilliant; they both have a sense of humour ! And when the lady... More

We needed some quality time out and it was delivered in excellence We live 100 km to the West of Manoir d'Hautegente and needed a few days away. The booking process was easy with helpful advice from Marie Josée Hamelin. Reception was very friendly after our journey (we had spent the afternoon in the old part of Brive) and took... More

From the first approach along a lesser-traveled road of Perigord-Dordogne to the manicured driveway and water-mill front of this old stone manor house, we knew we'd found a treasure right away. Our welcome was warm and relaxed, and we were shown to cozy, well-appointed, and meticulously clean rooms overlooking the front lawn and gardens. Bedding and towels were top-notch. The... More

We spent 8 nights at Manoir d'Hautegente and found it the perfect hide away for exploring the Perigord Noir. It is a proper country house hotel with an excellent restaurant in an elegant dining room, and team that operate like a family. The setting has an ambiance and surroundings that are warm, friendly and beautiful. The rooms are large and... More

This almost hidden gem is worth seaching out. The grounds are lovely as are the well manicured bushes. The restaurant is first class. Service is profession, food is very well presented and is very good. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The negative comments by some previous reviews cannot be endorsed by me.

I have eaten at the Manoir d'Hautegente many times and have never ever been disappointed with the truly excellent cuisine, the warmth of the reception and the overall luxury and ambience of the surroundings. Truly well worth the visit when it is time to spoil yourself.
