This place has so much potential! We were stoked when we found a beachfront room for 3000 rupees with what looked to be a good vibe. But the staff were absolutely useless. They all bummed cigarettes off my partner the whole time we were there and were just generally unhelpful. The first night the staff had a big party which... More

I ended up here just to stay 3 nights nut eventually spent one week. . Place is fantastic, few bungalows on the beach, beds to sunbath, shadows to protect from burning (it gets very hot at midday), bar and restaurant with excellent food and fruit juices....hammocks, private veranda in my bungalow, very friendly people and safe for single traveller (woman)... We went here on recommendation, but we were a little concerned after reading some of the reviews. We had no reason to be concerned this is a fantastic place where the staff will look after you very well. The food may take a little while, but it is well worth the wait. It is all cooked fresh and we agreed... More

If you are on a backpackers budget and you want beach front views, this is your place. However beware- the rooms are not the cleanest, they have parties, the staff move at a glacial pace on any order of business and are largely unfussed if they deliver bad service. But like I said, the view is good and the price... More

Great, location on the beach, can lie in a hammock and read, play volley ball, chill on the beach, swim in the 30C water. Very basic accommodation, cheap. Diving much cheaper than Nilaveii, much busier backpacker vibe. Very nice beach bar. Diving around this area was not amazing, but the instructor was a nice guy, my equipment was ok, can... More

Putting location aside I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The rooms and bathrooms are filthy and and at night the rooms are like ovens, with the small fans not giving much relief. It's only benefit is that it is probably the cheapest place to stay. We're not fussy, and although other reviews warned this we thought it would be... More

I cannot recommend this hostel. I arrived early in the day and I was happy with the basic accommodation as the situation near to the beach is good. However, there is an overbearing menace with the tuk tuk drivers that hang around and also with the owner of the various hostels. In the evening music was played much too loud... More

It's an ideal place for backpackers who don't need much, want a cheap place with running water, private bathroom and the beach at the front door. Staff was helpful, not very smiley but we got what we wanted although it took a while. The food is good but be prepared to wait for it at least for an hour, if... More

This place is great lush beach but made so much better if you walk 300 mtr to the end of the road to eat at pavi restaurant. Suba the owner is an amazing women who's cooking you will love and to top it off it's served at local prices. A must go if your staying in uppuvli.

I stayed there exactly for two hours, after taxidriver brought me there directly from Trincomalee railway station. I searched for half an hour until finally the cleaning lady appeared who allegedly was in charge of renting out the room. An extremely unfriendly person without manners and without a smile. She showed me a 3-bed room and said it would cost... More
