Trincomalee is the best Diving destination in Srilanka, where I do a trip almost every year for the last few years. Tried many places, but the most suitable and comfortable place from where you can ebjoy the beach side, scuba diving, cozy stay and perfect food - All at an affordable price

I came to Nilaveli to dive with Poseidan which is on this hotel's property. I think the only people who stay are divers as I was the only guest and the next day another diver stayed only one night. I don't ask for much in a room. Clean sheets and wifi but this place had neither. Stained but clean sheets... More

Stayed 2 nights and it was the worst accommodation we had in 2 weeks in Sri Lanka. For 40 USD a night (which is really a lot in Sri Lanka) you don’t get much. Not even a breakfast (extra 500 rupies for 2). Rooms are very very basic. I could not believe this “hotel” was build after tsunami in 2004... More

Great location. Beach full of rubbish though. they seem to put extra cost on every price they say. Dinner was really boring. Staff seemed friendly. Apparently a dangerous place to swimm. I went for a little swimm and felt pretty safe. Put take care of cause.

Hotel is in an old block and has a real gritty feel to it. The rooms are fine in terms if size and cleanliness was ok (in relation to what you pay). Staff can barely speak English, so it was a bit difficult to communicate. Staff were uncoordinated - we were quoted Rs700 for washing and then requested to pay... More

Rooms are large, clean and cheap (2000 for a non ac double room), the location is great (right on the beach but not too close to the really busy part of the beach), the owner is a really nice and helpful man (even if the rest of the staff almost doesn't speak English at all). A good and simple place... More

We chose this guest house as it offered convenient access to a whale watching trip and snorkeling at Pigeon Island ( both organised by a PADI approved dive school on site.) The relative isolation suited us as did the peace and quiet. Our room had a/c, mos net, balcony and hot water. On the down side, the bed was too... More

We stayed here two nights. We originally planned to stay for four but checked out early, we were that unimpressed. The hotel is completely chaotic and in spite of having myriad staff, everything takes an eternity. Food is cheap but pretty uninspiring. The rooms were clean but without views and not worth the 5000 we paid for a double with... More

Bad quality accommodation for its cost (nearly 30 USD for a low standard srilankan guesthouse it's crazy!). But worst thing is the complete lack of hospitality and friendliness of the so called manager and owner. He really knows how to make you feel an enemy in its own place. Made us wonder why he has a guesthouse for a living.... More

I would rather say this is a refugee camp. we arrived on a rainy day and the situation was depressing. of the 2 AC rooms we requested there was only 1, all guests packed in a small porch outside to cover up from the rain, the kitchen produced smells all over. the staff is quite rude and doesnt speak good...
