The pictures on this site are of 2 different guest homes currently known as Sapunaya and Cago, Sapunaya moved to a new location and only has one guestroom, Cago (the original Sapunaya) I believe has 4 rooms. The original owners sold to friends so I'm sure where-ever you go they both will be great. We stayed with the original owners... More

Thank you for giving stay. The stone of the yard was visible to zen. That is a pebble of coral. It is on the seashore of an island in large numbers. Moreover, please come for stopping. More

We learned that this inn had been sold when we tried to book it for a stay in April 2014. The good news is that Sapunaya's reputation for excellence lives on with the new owners. The inn is now called Guesthouse Cago (in English) and Chiisana Shimayado Cago (in Japanese). I will post our review under the new names.

This place is amazing, we definitely recomend it! The couple who runs the place are very serviceminded, helpful and sweet. The cottages are beautiful with tasteful decoration. Breakfast is delicious with lots of fruit. There is a small pool outside which is awsome on a warm day. Strongly recomend Sapunaya and Taketomi Island.

After looking around for places to stay in Taketomi we came across Sapunaya and it was the best choice we could have made. We'd just spent 3 weeks around Okinawa and this was our last stop before home. What a perfect way to end the trip! Fantastic room, dip pool, amazing breakfasts and out hosts could not have been more... More

I was very pleased to have found this minshuku (guest house) on Trip Advisor and immediately knew I wanted to stay there. I was there for three nights and it was wonderful! The hosts could not have been kinder, the breakfasts more delicious and the accomodations more comfortable. There is nothing to do on the island but everyday was filled... More

Sapunaya is a beautiful, tiny B&B, with 3 rooms around a small central courtyard, with a little plunge pool. The decor is very luxurious - we were in the deluxe room - and the room was large with good aircon and a big bathroom with a whirlpool bathtub! Spotlessly clean and a comfy western bed; only slightly weird thing was... More

For the hotel itself I can just confirm the mostly positive feedback of the other reviewers. But...we found a kitten literally starving and asked some milk or anything similar to feed him. The answer by Sapunaya staff and owner was "we do not like cats, there are too many of them on the island, so we won't provide you with... More

I remember two persons who came from Italy. The power plug of the Italy specification was required. I have ridden and bought the ship. You have gathered the cat. And it lodged in the room without notice. The food of the cat was required. The basket of the cat was required. We needed your help so that a kitten might... More

Stop searching: you cannot find a better place in Taketomi (and in all the Okinawa islands...)! I love everything there: rooms (just three + one in a separate house) are spotless and well designed, breakfast amazing with fresh tropical juice and fruits every day, the garden perfect for relaxation (they even have a small swimming pool where you can cool... Sapunaya is an excellent, luxurious but affordable little B&B on the beautiful, quiet remote island of Taketomi in Okinawa prefecture. Taketomi is the perfect getaway destination from the crowd, noise and rush of everyday life, and staying at Sapunaya has made our trip extra rewarding. Staff are very friendly. Breakfast - assortment of fresh fruit, delicious scrambled eggs with bread... More

we stayed in taketomi at the end of our journey to Japan. which was an out of this world experience. absolutly loved it and in my opinion everyone should go there once in their lives. Taketomi is a fresh of breath air after the busy mainland world. the Ryuku style village is beautyful. Sapunaya guest house is a very affordable... More
